The Governing Body dose not appoint Elders or Ministerial Servants anymore (apparently they are to busy) they now appoint a body to appoint them so it was brought out that we can not claim to be appointed by holy spirit.
So the C.O. gave us the hypothetical if you were appointed an Elder and you were acting “As a Christian” should, then you can cosider yourself appointed by holy spirit. If by the next time he comes if you're not acting Christian any more you no longer can consider yourself appointed by holy spirit and should let him (the C.O.) know that you do not qualify anymore.
I remember this causing a lot of questions from a few elders one shouted out, "Then why are we even here if we're not appointed by holy spirit anymore."
I’ve spoken to a few other elders out here in the east coast and there bodies had the same reaction, but it seems like the further west the brothers seem to not know what I’m talking about.

Dispelling Watchtower Myths of RC Beliefs
by Amazing inover the last two years, as i moved back to the catholic church, i have been confronted with objections by several people regarding certain catholic teachings.
these concerns are almost always the same, and are founded in mythology created by the watchtower society, and some evangelical denominations.
god can and does use fallible men to do infallible things?

During the time of the kings of Israel there were good kings and bad kings, blatant pagan worship mixed in with true adherence to the Torah. Just look at the striking examples in the difference of worship with regard of the kingly rule under Ahaz and with his son’s Hezekiah. But Jehovah was still the God of Israel through it all.
Even as a Jehovah’s Witness I see this to be true in the case of the RCC. I think the point is made clear in 1Clement ch.43-45.
:>>>>I just wanted to add to clarify my statement. If you were looking for the physical aspect of apostlitic succession you would find it in the RCC. But you know as well as I do that the Church is the body of those called by Christ not any man made Organizations.<<<<: -

Christians - What do you believe about Armageddon?
by JayBird ini've always wondered what mainstream christianity's viewpoint is in regards to armageddon.
i understand there's no timetable.
but that sense of urgency that exists with jws doesn't seem to be there either.

Maybe that’s why you didn't ask the right questions.

:By looking at many Watchtower publications you get the impression that fire balls will fall from the sky and humans will be eaten by wild animals. One popular myth that I've heard over the years is that black crows will pick at people's bodies. I was looking for specifics.
This is symbolic.
:I assumed that most Christians believe that when a person dies their soul either goes to heaven or hell. Wouldn't the same thing apply for people that die-- or don't die-- at Armageddon?
Where were you before you were born? If that’s what you mean by hell then yes if don’t do God’s will you will not have the goriest favor of his presence. On the other hand if you are chosen….
:I'm guessing that these scriptures are meant to suggest that the earth will eventually disappear
No I’m saying it’s not clear, so Maybe is my answer, or if you like better “I don’t know”.
But you’re still not asking the right questions… -

: Do you expect it to happen sooner rather than later? I think the attitude to cultivate is a waiting one. You hope it come in your life time but are resolved to serve God till your last breath. Micah 7:7 : Who will be destroyed? All who will not acknowledge Christ Jesus as Lord Acts 4:12; Psalm 2:12 : And how will they be destroyed? The best I can answer that is by the power of God, or maybe I don’t get what you mean. : Do you believe that the entire human race will be divided by their destination of heaven and hell? No, there are too many assumptions in this question to answer with brevity. : Will the universe, including planet Earth, remain intact for all eternity? Maybe : If so, WHY? Isaiah 45:18; Psalm 102:25-27 : Or am I totally off the mark and asking the wrong set of questions? YES

WHO is authorized to pronounce judgement? Those WITHOUT sin?
by Terry in"let him who is without sin cast the first stone.".
the above statement by jesus was directed at a throng of men about to stone a prostitute in accordance with the law of moses.. jesus did not say the law of moses was wrong or that the men should not carry out the judgement against the prostitute.. jesus did single out a qualifying eligibility which stopped the execution by an appeal to conscience.
"let him who is without sin....".
