This was my first experience of voting too! I was so excited by the prospect. I'm so glad the no vote won.

Need help disassociating
by Lo inhi, i am 19 and from ireland.
i have been studying the bible with jws for more than a year, and enough is enough.
i simply decided i don't want to be answerable to a human organisation like that who like to think they have the answers that they simply cannot have.

Ok the sister I study with texted me asking what time I want to study at tomorrow. I think she's going to loose patience if I keep putting it off. I'm going to reply tomorrow saying I was asleep/busy and can we leave it til next week cos I'm snowed under with college exams. (as I SHOULD be :D). I hate having to do this!

Ha, like one of the people above, I love having 666 in my number! The look on people's faces when I tell them my number is too amusing to give up.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I put off my study this week but next week I'm going to have to tell her straight out I'm stopping. I may do it by text, but she'll probably call over anyway.

Sex in the new order?
by keyser soze inoften times, at work, my mind will wander.
just the other day, out of the blue, i began to recall a trip my family took down south, to visit my mom's relatives.
i don't remember what instigated it, but my aunt, my dad, and my oldest brother got into a spirited debate about whether or not people would still have sex in the new order.. my dad, after rather awkwardly pointing out how much he enjoyed sex, said he didn't think it would be done away with completely, at least he hoped not.

People in my congregation still seemed to think people will have sex in the 'New system'. The woman I studied with doesn't want kids but tlks CONSTANTLY about the 'Paradise babies' she's going to have. DOTDOTDOT.

Do good works by JWs count for anything?
by greendawn inwe all know that the wts like so many other cults is an exploitative organisation that works with a great depth of deception that's not easy for many to grasp.
but will the works done by jws for this religion count in their favour if they were done in good faith?
at least the ones that didn't directly harm anyone?

Lo
I don't see them as doing many good works. They even condemn charity work. They seem to care mostly about getting converts, and little else.
