The letter of changing the book study

Adds that the GB wants to follow the 1st century example (not to add more burden) and quotes acts 15:5,28

Mention the raise of gas price (and the dificulties of some families) and suggest to use the free night to family study

The letter will be in the put in the information board of kingdom hall for two weeks

In the future more details will be given.

there were already a few topics and posts about the motifs behind the changes, but i think we can unite them all in just one topic.. for a start i will say thar the letter that is going to be read next weekend, says that gb wants to reduce the burden (quotes acts 15:28), and adds that in many countries the gas (petroleum) is at a very high cost for some families.

then it makes a suggestion to use the same day for study at home with family.. of course that the text of hebrew 10:25 is not quoted!

- if we are more close to the end it should be taken the opposite measure!.

Sorry for the delay, but i could not be in front of a computer for almost a day!

For those who asked - yes i am an elder. In the future i might say here why can anyone still be an elder. For me there are (still) more than one reason.

This is the motif for not giving details about myself - i apologise for that.

I do not defend the mistakes of WT and i do not believe in a lot of basic doctrines (as 1914, the 144000, these last days, and a few more)

Altought my research is now in the second year, i still learn and obtain new informations every week.

This forum has a lot of information, in particular in psychology and sociology domains.

I am grateful to everyone that shares their experiences and information here, and this was my little contribution.

coming announcement!

the much looked for (or so it seems) announcement coming to the finale of a watchtower study near you, may just be the thing about the book study and if so due to the time of year it is (at least in the northern hemisphere) it would make a fine opportunity for one and all in the congregation to meet say 6-6:30pm to participate in the field circus.

that way more people would be a home and therefore there would be more people to (irritate) talk to.

who knows, whatever it is, if it is in fact a change, it won't be for the betterment of the rank and file publisher.

I think quite the opposite: it is a bug announcement.

After all, when did the WT reduce (or eliminate) an entire meeting?

None in the history.

It is the first time in more than 130 years, they just demand more time of JWs.

If you sum up all the latest changes, it is a mark towards a new era.

the same very, very reliable source has confirmed that the book study will be amalgamated with the tms and sm.. this same source recently had a long and private conversation with a gb member.

Big Announcement could be a Sting against JWD

i am sure some of you remember speculation in the past that the borg would.

start false letters to smoke out the elders that are passing on the information .

to the evil apostates.. "a big announcement on april 24th" sounds like it could fit the bill.

For those who have watchtower study next saturday, it is only 4 days from now to confirm such a big innovation.

Two years ago it was 300 minutes of meetings, next year will be 210m - so its is 30% of reduction - and only two days /week to have a meeting. It is very sensitive difference

If only the PO can read the letter the Society doesn't trust the elders

from all the reports here, it seems that only the presiding overseer can read the letter re: book study change - the elders aren't even allowed to know about it until at the earliest, a few minutes before the sunday meeting.. doesn't this demonstrate lack of trust in the boe by the faithful and discreet slave?.

they must know about renegade elders posting here.. the presiding overseer is really just another elder who represents the boe..

It is quite true- WT do not trust in elders

Some letters are only for circuit or district overseers

For exemple some sensitive issues (like beeing dissociated for accepting a blood transfusion)

That also prevents to be accused for oposers, cause it is more difficult to prove.

This time they want to make a big surprise, and thought if all elders knew, they might start telling to a lot of people.
