It sounds like "The Ice Storm: The Series." You'd probably find that movie more interesting.

Did Anyone Watch Swingtown on Thursday Night?

i was a little disappointed that there wasn't more of a seduction of the new swingers.
all it took was a few recreational drugs.

Perhaps they'll advise young people to take up running as a regular excise routine. Run away from those gay thoughts. They'll call it "The Leo Greenlees Guide to Purging Your Gayness." Next thing you know, they'll have new provocative headlines for the Watchtower like "Does Your Son's Breath Smell Like Bleach?" and "Gays, are they Icky?" and "Is Your Penis a Toy?" Look forward for some brilliant stuff.

Why I will NEVER be an elder again
by stillajwexelder inso the po confirmed what many on this board already know.
at latest round of co to elders meeting, the co quoted from the society outline.
any elder or ms who encourages college for his kids or others or who allows his children to go to college will no longer qualify.. he then asked if i was going to take the cos encouragement and reach out again to be an elder and get my hours on the ministry up.. i replied "i will never be an elder again - i strongly approve of further education and college and have been through college myself.

Book Study "provision from Jehovah" quotes KM, so why cancelled by GB?
by yesidid inyou will notice that in both these km articles they say the cbs is "a loving arrangement from jehovah".
if that is the case it begs the question: .
what right have they to stop it?

Now remember, they're not eliminating it entirely, but limiting it to 25 minutes and scheduling it with two other meetings.

The hidden Watchtower writers.
by edmond dantes inthe watchtower smoke and mirrors dept.
are very fond of saying that appostates who post on the internet are like satan in eden hiding their identity just like the devil who used the serpent.. this begs the question why do the awake and watchtower writers need to hide behind the printing presses of the evil tower, what are they ashamed of or more to the point what is the govening body frightened of ?.
maybe the book club and rip off society are guilty of identity theft in not declaring the names of their writers..

You already know the answer to this. They don't want readers to give undue attention to an author. If they keep it anonymous, readers will be less reminded that it is fallible men who are writing the articles.

Is the WT banning vasectomies?
by B_Deserter ini talked to a dub friend of mine who said they had a new "it's a personal choice, but jehovah will kill you if you do it" article about vasectomies.
basically, the reasoning is supposedly that since jehovah gave us our reproductive organs, tampering with them is wrong if not medically necessary.
-

Yes, as if having a vasectomy has anything to do with your abilities or sincere you feel about God. Where do they get this shit? It's a though the new governing body members were so eager to start making decisions that they chose any old arbitrary restriction to impose.

Like others here, I fear that they'll take further steps towards banning contraceptives. The next thing you know, married couples will be need a chaperon who'll make sure the cock finds the right hole.

coming announcement!
by buffalosrfree inthe much looked for (or so it seems) announcement coming to the finale of a watchtower study near you, may just be the thing about the book study and if so due to the time of year it is (at least in the northern hemisphere) it would make a fine opportunity for one and all in the congregation to meet say 6-6:30pm to participate in the field circus.
that way more people would be a home and therefore there would be more people to (irritate) talk to.
who knows, whatever it is, if it is in fact a change, it won't be for the betterment of the rank and file publisher.

I hope this is not some rumor being spread by a bunch of idiots. As someone who's reluctantly going to these meetings, I really would like a night free.
