hi everyone, thought it was time to say hi after nearly a year lurking on this site!!

abit about me... i was born into the jw's and have been baptised for about 15yrs and was appointed as an ms about a year ago.

i have been a die hard jw for the last few years, but because of the arrogant and unloving attitude of certain 'spirit appointed' men within the cong and circuit i began to wounder if what i had really was 'the truth' and caused me to do some digging on some of the fundamental teachings.

Request for info - Please post the number of partakers between 1975 - 1992

i have the figures from 1992 to present.

most of the the previous years are not in the cd-rom.

anyone have yearbooks or bound volume data they can share?.

New Light- If you factor in the old ones dying, the number is going up, albeit in small increments. I am really curious about this years number as I know newly anointed(crazy) ones and have heard reports of a bunch of new partakers

What was wrong with the 'occultic green' bibles?

what was wrong with the 'green bible'?.

i understand (rightly or wrongly) that the 'green' had occult connotations that some did not approve of.. is this true and were the early jws too involved with hidden, esoteric, occult meaning that 'others' found uncomfortable and so they had to go to the sobre black bibles?.

Green is the color of money. Once they stopped charging they went to black and then red. I'm going with the whole symbolism thing.

Looking for help on JW Doctrine on Paradise Earth

i believe that it is fear of impending armegeddon that is the 'gravity' that is acting on my wife by the jws, and i know a lot of that is due to the media and the portrayals of the current world conditions.

she has asked me about the lutheran view of armageddon, which frankly i am not sure of, since it is not a focal point of the faith (so i need to do some homework on this) and also she keeps bringing up the paradise earth doctrine, and asks me if 'jehovah' did not mean for man to inhabit the earth, why was it created.

what would her come back (or should i say the jw comeback) be if i pointed her to the many places in the bible where it talks about a new earth, the destruction of the present earth and similar?

A@G- I did. The conversation was started with my continued bashing of the fact that JW believe that the ENTIRE chapter of Rev.7:9 is taken in a figurative context except for the 144,000 they claim are anointed. This was just a side note that can not be explained by JW's.

I had a very similar conversation with my wife earlier in the week. I brought up Rev. 7:9- That the great crowd was standing before the throne and the angels around the throne.- They were at the same place- The discussion did not last long after that but my wife has been trying to straighten this out in her mind. She can't do it without the JW propaganda
