1-day district conventions

has anyone else heard this?
a family member was at the assembly hall for a meeting and the brother stated that soon they would be meeting for their 1-day district conventions there..

It would make sense. of the dozen or so dubs I have spoken to who I would consider friends, about half skipped Friday. The GB must realize the cash they are burning on Friday's.

HtheA- It is actually written factually. The problem is this sister thinks she is learning a trade that will be an invaluable tool in the new system. I've been to well over 100 "quick-builds" and even prayed over the meal for this preparation to happen.
I am typing this shaking my head at the amount of Koolaid I drank.

She actually needs to sign up with her local service committee to determine if she is spiritually qualified. As far as brains go, some brothers were qualified others just put in a lot of field service and that qualified them. I personally was tired of dealing with idiots that thought after doing something 3 or 4 times they were an expert.

The quote indicates she assists the RBC she is not on the committee. I was an overseer for our local RBC and would venture to say if she is in a completely different line of work she is probably just there looking for brothers. If she is trying to work (unless she's hot) she is annoying the brothers (limited) who actually know what they are doing. It amazes me the amount of Witnesses that work at quick-builds and believe they are either an expert in the field or more important than they are. I found most just used them as an excuse to skip the meeting once a month.

Best JW tall story/variations of it?
by KW13 indont just list one, list them all so we can laugh because in all honesty i can't believe we believed some of them.
for example, i was told annie lennox stopped a concert to ask if there was any jw's in the audience, and if there was could they leave as they were stopping the demons getting through...is this even remotely true?
did annie lennox ask the jw's in the audience to move because they were stopping the snack lady getting through...and it got twisted through chinese whispers.... the other day (i felt sick) one witness was banging on about how amazing it was that the watchtower society's building was the only one standing still...wtf...my stepdad responded with a 'wow thats amazing' and the first brother was like 'yeah i know'...grrrrrrrrr aaaaaaaah screaaaaaaaaam .

My wife would buy into the argument of bad information on the internet. The one time she admitted to being on this site she read something that was depicted as a JW belief and I can attest it was completely wrong. I t did however stimulate conversation that had very negative overtones about JW's/
