Also should be noted that while the decision is ultimately from the GB, these company men know the criteria. Hours, meeeting attendance and answering. Do it long enough, don't be obnoxious, and you too can be an elder. It really is that simple. One warning, if you do these things but are not "serious", you cannot be a clown, you probably won't be appointed. Also, don't piss off any long time elders or they can find a reason not recommend you.

the last thread turned into an apostate war which i found highly entertaining and did not want to hijack the direction it is going in.. however, what has completely tickled my fancy is the fact that almost 20,000 jw's are publicly thumbing their nose at the g.b.

These members have somehow justified in their minds their being there. The Administrators have takn the position of being able to judge who is and is not an apostate. There are many currently members of this group that are "closet apostates" and have not and will not be identified. Yet the Administration has assumed the responsibility of "protecting the sheep". Just a thought, If he/they were such spiritual giants, THEY WOULD NOT BE THERE! Instead of trying to justify the site. Just a thought, but if Facebook for JW's was so neccesary, wouldnt the WBTS have their own page.
I hope the Elders, CO, DO and Branch committe come down on these clowns who are running the site! That is unless the administrators are really apostates, which could be the case if they are so willing to ignore athe direct counsel from the "faitfhul slave".

I could not imagine having to sit through this.
I can just picture some older people nodding their heads throoough the whole study and the congregation being so appreciative of having the same common sense behavioral traits they were taught a 5 years old being rehashed for an hour.

You need to make the best business decision for yourself. It may or not include walking away from your home. Don't make any decision personal.
well, as my suspicious side suspected, my wife has rather suddenly flipped the script on me.

I had the "shepherding call" in which you are awaiting. I was not confrontational. I realized early in the conversation to watch what I was saying. I asked questions, always stating that they were just questions, not beliefs. I said I needed some time. They asked straight up " Do you believe this is Gods organization here on earth" I said I didn't know. They were fishing for something to get me on and I would not give it to them. They assumed I was reading apostate literature on the internet (like most, I looked at the apostate sites after my doubts were already established). I said I needed some time....
Over a year later, I have not been to the KH once, they got the point, the "friends" will still call the house to talk to my wife because I was not Df'd and most importantly my marriage is better than ever (my wife is not thrilled about me not being a JW anymore, but respects my stance).
Oh yeah I am not a Dub any more.
I feel your bravado as I too had a similar attitude, just remember there are consequences if you choose to bring this bravado into a shepherding call.
so it appears that jws are letting their freaky side come out on fb for everyone to see.. there was talk on the ca yesterday strongly warning all true lovers of jehovah to delete their fb accounts.
the talk was solely about fb.
the speaker mentioned that jws are associating with people that would not associate with in real life, often using the excuse that the person is a relative.
