even when i was in and a ms in good standing there was always 2 or 3 that would never talk to me for no reason.it was usually an elders wife.i can see that some like this religion because you have an opportunity to feel superior to others.

Graduation and elders meeting!
by why??? inhi everyone, i'm not new here just haven't posted in a while.
for those who remember me i'm graduating from college on wednesday!!!!
i'm very happy but there's still a dark cloud (pardon the dramatic-ness) i am still with my non-jw boyfriend of almost three years and i've let my parents know that we want to get married (next month) and they went and told the elders(they did it kinda behind my back) who now want to meet and talk with me!

How do you handle ... being shunned?
by Awakened at Gilead inmy da announcement was last tuesday, so i have been on the official jw shun list for about a week now.... i am curious how you handle shunning.my situation:.
i have spoken with my family (my parents and 1 brother) and discussed whether they will shun me.
i explained that biblically they should not shun me since i am not an antichrist, and i have not rejected the teaching that jesus cam in the flesh.

i stopped after another month.i asked myself -was this for god or for man?i come to the conclusion that gods spirit is not with them-so i left and the elders have not even inquired of me.

i was dfd and started to go through the reinstatement process.it is amazing how talented they are at making you feel invisible.i went to the mens room and was alone in there with an elder.he almost went on himself in order to avoid me.so i proceeded to urinate in the sink .he said -what the h are you doing?i said -what do i have to do to get someones attention around here?

Do JWs Shun You?
by minimus inrecently, i've heard from various jw family members that either i am viewed as "close to being an apostate" because i had made some comments suggesting that the fds is clearly wrong on many issues over the years or that i "have left jehovah" and therefor by my new way of life, i must be shunned.
while visiting my dying non jw uncle in the hospital, i was told outrightly that it was wished that i never showed my face and that my mere presence was objectionable and that since i "left jehovah", they could not talk to me any longer.. their viewpoints saddened me because they said all this in front of my uncle who can barely respond to anything.
his reaction: he cried his eyes out!

they can not df you if there is no fornication or uncleaness.you just wont be able to pioneer or go to bethel.the fact is that you are showing respect for gods arrangement by getting married.

you are a very pleasant person.i can only wish i was that way.i have to disagree with you on two points.when it comes to hell-the jws and other groups have it right.it can be proven with the scriptures.also the catholic church has been the biggest enemy of the bible over the years-burning people at the stake for having one.the catholic church still exists because god has not brought his punishment upon it yet.it well fits the description of babylon the great in revelation.i want to thank you on your perspective of how jws view the world.that has helped me in not giving in to my weakness of wanting to go back to the wts just to feel secure.my new view is that not one group posesses all the truth.when jesus returns he will instruct us.
