the problem is leaving the wts is not apostacy-its a step in the right direction.

WT advice about unbelieving mates or DF'ed family members
by OnTheWayOut inthis is a revival of an old thread: http://www.jwsupportforum.com/index.php?topic=8144.0;topicseen.
i revived it as i was looking for it to show to someone else.. it seems they wish they could legally kill people's own family members.
since they cannot, they encourage believing mates to prostitute themselves with the unbeliever- trade sex (marital due) for financial support.. here's the older wt article that reveals "their" attitude toward unbelieving or df'ed family members:.

New Book: Jehovah is Jesus! Not Michael.
by Cold Steel indr. margaret barkers new book, the great angel: a study of israels second god, argues conclusively that yahweh, the god of israel, was not the father of jesus, but jesus christ himself.
furthermore, the belief that jehovah was gods (elyons) first son a tradition that went far back into israelite history.
it not only was known to the ancient prophets, but to the early christians and even the gnostics.

Let's compile the 10 most...
by MrFreeze inlet's compile the 10 most most flawed teachings of jehovah's witnesses and provide sound reasoning and references as to why they are so flawed.
this way we can all have this thread as a reference when it comes to disputing what jehovah's witnesses believe.
we can make this a community project.

Is the Watchtower an Apocalyptic or doomsday religion?
by jwfacts inimo the watchtower has a strong emphasis on eschatology and is one of the most prominent of the modern apocalyptic religions.
so i found it surprising to see the watchtower never uses the word eschatology applied to itself and claims not to be an apocalyptic religion.
startfragment.

jws are what you would call a futurist religion.most of evangelicals are of the same ball of wax that emerged since the early 1800s.they are just a bit more strict than most.

I'm glad my children don't have to grow up being afraid of cupcakes
by Ilovebirthdays inyesterday, i brought a batch of cupcakes to my son's school.
in passing them out, i started to give one to one of the children, who was a jw.
he immediately started freaking out and screaming "no thank you" over and over.

i have known many jw kids that were happy and functional.your argument is weak.at least they have faith in jesus christ and will not be judged.can you say that about your children?

Governing Body 2.0
by drew sagan ini borrow the phrase gb 2.0 from alltimejeff, who used it yesterday in the post about theodore jaracz's death.. i was interested in starting a thread that addresses the new leadership regime that has emerged within the wts, especially in light of changes (albeit mundane) the organization has undertaken over the past 15 years or so.
while few of us have had close contact with the men in charge, changes they have made in recent years surly reflect a definable leadership style.
it also reveals a little bit about how they view the organization and its future.. from what i can put together, it seems that there a few obvious things to note.. - 1999 seems to be the sea change year in terms of gb appointment and might be seen sybolically as a turning point in terms of leadership for the group.

Talking to two J dubs on a busy downtown street
by ldrnomo inso im out of town for a couple of days for a software seminar.
it didnt start until noon yesterday so i took a walk down a busy street famous for its shopping and as i got to the end of the stores and the beginning of apartments i noticed two women standing on the sidewalk in front of what i later noticed was a kingdom hall.
as i started walking by giving them a smile and a polite greeting the one that was older, they were both young based on my terms the older in her 30s middle to late the younger in her 20s probably late.

Would you still be a JW, if you had to Tithe?
by moshe inthe next new light from the f&ds could be the tithe for jw's.
it's a logical corporate decision , needed to replace the lost income stream from the publishing side of the wt business.
they know that the kh has many inactive slugs who don't contribute any $$ to the business, so this would be the best way to milk $$ from the inactive ones.

i think the jws who could afford it would gladly do it if it could replace turning in a fs report every month.
