I was at my Grandmothers bedside during the time she was dying. I agree with this person completely.

This is the last week!! Come on everyone. Go to the link and vote, If everyone took a few seconds and helped him out, he could win this thing.
Plus... think of how much it would annoy the Watchtower to have the same Title out there on a different book. :-)

What was life like for you as a JW teenager?
by highdose inin the wt's illistrations they portray jw teenagers as happy, together group.
my experinace is that the jw teenagers in the cong were some of the bitchyist backstabbing arse holes i'll ever meet.. it was unheard of for us to engage in group "wholesome activity" as show in the wt's illistrations.
the competition amongst the girls for the handsome, sane and elders sons were cut throat.

Being raised a JW, it was completely impossible to discover myself as a person. I think that is what should happen when your a teen, a self-identity. It wasn't until I left the organization that I was fully able to do this.
I have some good memories as a JW, mostly involving friendships, sadly the bad overwhelms most of it.

Long-Term Effects of Physical Abuse
by rebel8 inobviously this is a very personal matter.
i can't believe i'm posting it here but i need to make myself.
i'm probably going to regret this.. i have discussed before that i was physically abused and neglected as a jw child.

Hi Rebel 8 :-)
When something is so long term it is hard for the sub conscious to realize its gone. Especially triggers like being startled. Thing that have helped me is when my mind continues to take be back in time, I look around and evaluate where I am now. Am I really in danger?
Looking in the back of your car is just good common sense. But feeling a constant state of awareness and fear of abuse from an undefined source is not. It's over. But your mind hasn't healed yet. Do what you can get process and heal, and you will be able to feel some peace.
Much love and thoughts headed your way.

Evil Spirits
by LizLA indoes anyone on this forum have knowledge about casting out demons or evil spirits?
there's at least two of them that have been harrasing me even before i was a jw.
i recently attended a deliverance church to find some help but it was apparent that the holy spirit was missing from that church.

They are not leaving because you like the idea that you can hear/feel them. You want psychic abilities and so even though you decided that they annoy you, the truth is, you would be disappointed if they left because your 'power' would be gone.
If you wish for things to change, you have to start with what is keeping them there.

I voted too.. Enjoyed the first chapter. Reminded me of my days doing rural territory in SE Kansas.. I think people who used to be JW will enjoy the details, but I think the general theme will appeal to others as well..
Look forward to reading the rest.
