Shed Some Light!
by tresdecu inhere's an awesome song for you by the band shinedown!
especially if you like rock.
the lyrics are very poetic and have a lot of meaning for me.. this is an acoustic version, i like (minus the idiots talking in the background) but the lead singer's voice is powerful enough to make you ignore them.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqliwppyvlc.

Loz, hmmm I Don't understand. Do I have to have a point when I post something? Is it ok for me to share something I like?
Sorry I guess I should have put the 'fluff' disclaimer before my actual post so people were not searching for a 'point'
& you are very astute, Jesus was not mentioned in the song nor was his glorification.
Hoped someone out there enjoyed the song.
Have a good sunday...(I got out of another meeting today ;-) yeah for me)

(sorry, don't know how to imbed video)
Here are the lyrics:
I'm falling apart again
And I can't find a way to make amends
And I'm looking in both directions
But it's make believe, it's all pretend
So,
Shed some light on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe in
It's innocence within the maze
But I have chosen the wrong way
I'm still getting over who I was
There's no sense of trust, there's no definition of love
So,
Shed some light on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe in
I know now, it's not who you are
It's who you know
And I see clearly now, which way to go
I remember the way I fell from above
And I recall the way I was
So,
Shed some light on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe in
Shed some ling on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe
Tell me something that I'll,
Tell me something that I'll believe
Tell me something that I'll believe
Something I'll believe -

I watched the video dirctly on youtube, and you can see the comments. highlighted below for your enjoyment:
O my goodness! Is this true? I'm a natural haired sister in the truth but even I have to admit natural hair ain't for everyone! Even I still struggle with it from time to time! I will have to admit that? it would be healthier to stop messing with those hair chemicals! I would love to have seen the look on some of the friends faces when this was announced! Lol!

Yes this true. At our one-day assembly this past weekend, it was so many sisters that had gone natural. Some, where still wearing wigs to grow certain parts of their hair back, but they were natural underneath and can't wait to be able to? take them off. Actually a lot of sisters are on board. They realize that any harmful chemicals of any kind won't be allowed in the New System.
harmful chemicals of any kind won't be allowed in the New System <--- This one made me laugh!!!

Yikes, and I? just bought an extra bottle of texturizer last month. Oh well, as long as it's new light, I'm happy to remain in harmony.

ASL is the new 'cool foreign language' to learn. 25 years ago all the gringos wanted to learn spanish to 'serve' the spanish field....now it's ASL. We have an ASL congo where I go. Moved in about 6 years ago. Word is they whined to the RBC about a bunch of changes in the KH they needed to be able to get more out of the meetings (or something to that effect) Large TV Monitors near the stage, relocation of year text, new paint etc, and I'm pretty sure there was more involved too. Some of the same brothers that were tasked with the work were pretty irritated, due to the fact that the hall had been recently remodeled before the ASL. So there was a lot of wasted time it turns out! I know one elder that was pretty pissed.
Another funny thing, I really don't think there are that many "native" ASL pubs, a lot our ones who want to do something new and shiney. From the WTS standpoint, it seems like a good group to go after. I'm sure deaf people are pretty isolated and lonely, so here's this great love bombing group of people that show up at your door, with 75 new friends that know your language.

Tomorrow's Watchtower Study: Steve hits Selma in North America... not South America
by Alfred ini started a thread a few days ago that probably went unnoticed for the most part (under "scandals & cover-ups") regarding steve hitting selma in tomorrow's wt study... i just wanted to recap it here for those who may have missed it.... the spanish version changes the story completely.... if you've read that paragraph 12 it basically says that steve hit selma as she tried to prove a point.
selma then feels sorry for herself.. in the spanish version steve merely gets furious with her and she gets sad.. by the way, i just looked up the italian version... .
selma ricorda una lezione che imparo dalla sorella che le conduceva lo studio.

very interesting find. I wish I had the cojones to call the writing dept about this and ask point blank why is there a discrepancy.

Introduction Bio
by JakeM2012 inhi everyone, i would like to introduce myself and tell my story.
from the standpoint of being one of jehovahs witnesses, my whole family is deeply involved as i was the 5th generation of witness and any children that my brothers or sister have will be the sixth generation.
as some of my brothers and sisters are grandparents, i guess that makes their grandchildren a potential 7th generation.

Thank you JakeM for telling your story. Great read this morning!! So many good quotes, but I really liked this : "...130+ year snipe hunt"
