I think the SAD will be discontinued and we'll just have two CA's a year and no more DC. From a buisness standpoint, this makes sense...and the WT is a buisness that needs to cut costs. Good point Incognito! Cancelling the SAD will make room for an extra CA (formerly know as the DC)

No more 3-day DCs starting in 2013?
by respectful_observer inapologies if there is another recent thread on this, but i have heard from 4 different people in 3 different geographic areas (including someone who does advance work for the dcs), that beginning in 2013 the three day dc program will be replaced by a second two-day circuit assembly.
some people were passing the info along like a secret, others seemed to think that everyone already knew.. if everyone in j-dub land is already talking about this, how is it not all over this forum??.
anyway, can anyone confirm or deny?.

This is a great rumor..very happifying indeed! I sure hope it's true. But as another mentioned the byebye CO/DO rumer kind of fizzled. The OP seems like he had a conversation from someone who is in the 'know'.
Just want to keep this bumped, so someone else out there (maybe a high ranking lurker) can join JWD and confirm or deny...come on' just do it.

Another email from the writer (of the religion section) (at bottom) and my response (directly below):

Hello
As I mentioned, I am still seen as an 'active' witness and have no connection to any group of former members or opposers...therefore I have no idea. I don't know if you are aware of a huge lawsuit that the WT Society just lost...It set a huge precident, and hopefully many more victims will come forward. Here is one link from msnbc:
I would imagine that there might be some protesters there bringing attention to this news, as I'm sure many JWs are unaware of the verdict.
Thanks again for your time!

William Osbeck-The CO that helped me get out of the borg.
by Sadie5 inafter reading cruzenheart's post on the letter about her father, and the treatment he received from the co, william osbeck, and the elders of his congregation, it brought back my own memories of this particular co and his treatment of people.
it was 1995 and one of the hardest years of my life.
in february of that year, i learned i was pregnant with our fifth child.

UPDATE!!!
I finally got a reply from the paper I sent the email to. (see original copy at top of thread) After, not hearing anything for a week and a half, then seeing the "fluff" article I knew they would write...I was frustrated so I sent a few more. Here is the reply I just got:
The story you are talking about is extremely difficult to do without
people willing to come forward and allowing their names to be used.
Are their any names and cell phone numbers for current Witnesses and
ex-Witnesses you can provide me?
There haven't been protests outside the Dome over shunning of
ex-members for several years. Will there be any protests this year?
Thanks.Looks like he may be willing to do a story...but I can't reveal my name. Maybe a former Elder or Watchtower/Awake research writer..(Barbara :-)
PM me your info, if you are willing to help. Not sure if he will really follow through, or use someone not in my area, but it's worth a try. If you don't want to PM me anything, I'd welcome any other thoughts on this thread. Thanks.

Severe Blood Conservation Appears Safe In Cardiac Surgery For Jehovah's Witnesses
by TJ Curioso insevere blood conservation appears safe in cardiac surgery for jehovah's witnesses .
severe blood conservation in conjunction with cardiac surgery is not associated with long-term adverse consequences, according to a new study published in archives of internal medicine.
investigators from the cleveland clinic and the nhlbi compared 322 patients who were jehovans witnesses with an equal number of matched controls.

Update on Alan Feuerbacher's heart attack that he had last Sunday
by AndersonsInfo inalan'swife, julie, talked to the cardiologist this morning.
the news about alan's heart is good.
he described the heart attack as mild and said that although there is damage to the lower portion of his heart, the pumping action probably won't be affected much.

**MUST READ** AlanF's email to Knocking.org
by sf inthis is a must-read that, hopefully, will stay an "active topic" for all seekers and lurkers, by bumping it to the top as often as possible.
alan wrote it in randys {dogpatch} thread regarding knocking.org documentary and in reply to the email mr. engardio sent to barbara anderson.
however, it is so vital a read that it indeed needs its own thread:.
