Still going back to correct grammer / spelling, but this is basically what I am writing to them. It probably won't do any good, but you never know:
Hello,
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I can't give you my name, for fear of it leaking and me losing my family. That sounds dramatic, but that is what I live with being a 'Jehovah's Witness' who does not believe the doctrine anymore. I am not free to just leave, or express my thoughts without being branded an "apostate" by the organization. I would lose my friends and family.
I am wrinting this because every year around convention time, the post writes a "flowery" article about the District Convention. I wanted to briefly explain to you that many believe the Watchtower Society to be a cult. That is what I now believe. No doubt your photographer will take pictures of smiling, "happy" people. However many are like me, no longer believing, but held hostage due to the threat of disfelloshiping (or shunning), simply for not agreeing with the "governing body" (group of older men in NYC who direct the organization)
I invite you to view the following website, which is written by a fellow former JW. He very eloquantly explains the flaws and problems within the organization. He also presents many scandals that have played out over the years, scandals that would shake most JWs to the core, however being raised a JW, we are constantly discouraged from doing any outside research about the religion. Anything bad that is presented is spoken of as "lies from Satan". It is truely a strange religion...now I can look back and see the craziness of it all. I hope you take about 15 min to look at the link below and maybe do some added reasearch before presenting your next article this summer.
If you see me at the arena, I will be one of the ones smiling, like I am happy to be there. There are many more like me who are also trapped.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely
TD
