locally there was a very strong push for everybody to ride the bus to the international convention.
they discouraged driving to the stadium and were not as crazy about booking rooms through the society.
my guess is that they are getting a cut of the bus fares that they organize.
Not to hijack Zed's thread.
But re: the T-dome parking scandal. here is a link to a story written in a small local paper when that occured

(may have to copy and paste link)
I was also at the Seattle convention and echo the parking / traffic horror story!!!
okay guys, i wish i could have posted this earlier, but unfortunately, i didn't have the time.
anyway, as i've told you in my previous post, thursday, before reacting the convention site we visited a family of "apostates" from a group which separated itselft from the borg but is still doing the same dumb old shit the borg did many decades ago.
anyway, now let's talk about the convention in itself.
Thanks for your summary. I do remember them mentioning the photo drama of creation...but not in a comparison, as in vs. what the world has done. Had that wording been used I'm sure I would have caught something that ridiculous. Maybe in the Romanian outline the speaker got a little creative, or just worded it differently.
Yes, the videos are designed to pull at our emotions...I think from the WT standpoint, that addition is a stroke of mind maniputaing genious. Images combined with music work 1000% better than some old goat reading off of an outline. The emotion sticks with a person too.
It is strange that they had a meeting on the friday of the convention. That is definately not done in the U.S. Maybe that was just a local thing that they did for whatever reason. Strange! And sorry you had to deal with that after sitting through 5+ hrs of rahat !! ;-)
PS. Your english is excellent!
was wondering if anyone attended the seattle intl convention and what it was like?
saw some pics from instagram, seems like quite the.
big production for sure!
William...thanks nice to know I am not alone. Sorry I had to quickly log off during the last post...wifey cam bounding down the stairs with dinner ;-)
Also, Lett is a big weirdo (to use a nice word) his freaking expresions and the way he talks...ugh. Of course my wife said "I like him, he's so happy" Wahhyagonna do, oh well. LQ, yes, we parked about 3/4 mile away. It sucked!!

Leaving Quietly...your post was spot on. I am ashamed to say, during the ressurection video, I got the 'goosebumps'...it was weird. I guess just human emotion I can't control. I wish it were true, but alas...Yes, We flew in (went rogue, un-invited) we have family in the Seattle Tacoma area, and the PNW is one of my fav places. Will post more...

oh to answer your question....I think around 400 were baptized. Can't remember the exact number. Didn't watch close enough to count kids.

Yes, I was there with my wife. I spared my kid and he stayed with a relative. Lett was the GB member there along with a 'GB helper', kind of like assistant to the regional manager. (lol 'Office referance)
Some quick thoughts.....traffic there was horrible. We left at 8am from the east side (Bellevue / Kirkland area if you're familiar with Seattle) and it took us 1.5 hours!!! Normally a 10 min drive max. We heard horrer stories from handicapped bro/sisters (I use that term out of habit) parking was very far for them to walk to the stadium. Didn't seem like many details were well planned out.
I heard after the 1st day they called in Attendant reinforcements from other areas (who werent invited originally) just for help.
Other than the korean delegates walking around in their native garb, acting like disney characters, taking pictures and giving out trinkets, the talks felt the same as any other DC. They did ramp up the emotion though in video taped interviews and a mini-drama about the ressurection that made many cry in anticipation. It was like a trailer for a bad lifetime movie. Unfortunately my wife cried too!! It worked :-/
People did get caught up in the emotion of being at an international convention and acted a little goofy, like they were on cloud 9.
I'll add more as I think of it. Just flew back home today.

I agree with cantleave and baltar....BS stuff is dumb and waste of time. April 1st ...ok, but other than that just stupid.
just found out from my jw mom that the congregations located in the suburbs north of seattle.
will be renting buses to shuttle people back and forth to the international convention at husky.
stadium.
Hey Guys...I'll be in seattle too for the Int Con(men) Hope it's raining!!!
Anyone know if they'll allow these:

i need a good fat-burner.
i am getting some serious love handles, and a gross poochy belly.
yeah, yeah...i drink almost every night, and this has been going on for almost 2 years, blah, blah..hic!?
DATA!! I feel your pain bro! I am in the same situation...I have turned into a fat-ass. I am 5'10 and weigh 236 ugh I've always have been between 160-175 Now as I inch closer to the big Four'O I realize I am at the point of no return. I have to get in shape to!
I have used green tea fat burners in the past, and have felt that it helps. Reasearch Green Tea, it's good for a lot of stuff! Incl weight loss. If you have a rapid heart rate or any kind of arythmia be careful sometimes all these stimulants in fat burners can make something like that worse.
Good Luck! Maybe we should start a support thread, and we can motivate one another.
