i'm new to the non jw wordly scene, so i'd like to know.
is it normal to expect some niceites when going out with some one?
the odd dinner maybe?

I started dating 3 years ago, after being in the org all my life (41 years). I was so amazed that the worldly men were not the PIGS that I had always heard they were from the platform. It had been pounded in my head that the only thing a worldly man wants is sex. This is not the case and jumping into bed is never expected from a proper date.
In fact, I found that JW men were way more in heat than worldly men.

he's a nephew of my good friend that i hang with, he's 48, married, used to have a beard, and is very much a terrific person.... except that he's a witness.. he then smiled and said, "i know, i know, i know.
"...and bought me a beer and talked about other stuff for a half hour..

for me...if he's kind and considerate, dresses nice, have a nice smile, lot's of humor and is a good kisser.

i just became a member last week and picked my name feeling free because that is exactly how i feel free at last.
i have stopped going to meetings and field service about 6 months ago, and feel great.
there are jw's in my congregation who email me they miss me and are missing me at the meetings but i just respond that i am fine and taking care of myself.
It is so wonderful that you can start over with your mate. Not too many here had that opportunity.

but the most memorable one was an elderly pioneer who would ask the householder if they wanted to hear about "the truth".
when they quite naturally said ,"no", he responded with, "if you don't believe in jesus, jesus will turn you into a pig"!.
After reading all these humerous experiences above it reminded me of Jack Nicholson's (Melvin Udall) comment in AS GOOD AS IT GETS.....

I have known so many special people. One that I can still laugh about is Dougy. The Thursday night meetings used to last until 10:00. After almost every Thursday meeting Dougy would call the same 3 elders into the back room for a meeting. On the way home my (typical elders wife) mother would ask what the meeting was about. Dad's response was always "Well, Nancy, apparently Dougy has been masterbating again". Us five siblings in the back seat never knew where to look or what to say.

My cats are huge hunters. Mainly feeding on neighborhood birds and rabbits. The HOA in my area is trying to get my cats evicted.
i think most religions have their good and bad points about them.
some religions (most) teach if you're a "bad" person or a sinner who doesn't become "born again", that you're going to burn in hellfire forever and ever!
some religions teach intolerance toward "infidels" or "apostates".
If a religion brings happiness to an individual without doing harm than absolutely.
