as a longtime jw, i knew about 1925, 1975, the failed original expectation of 1914, etc.

in the first bible studies i conducted, we taught that the great tribulation began in 1914 but was "cut short" in 1918 on account of the chosen ones, that some flesh would be saved.

the great tribulation was said to have been in abeyance.

Persecution - from the=2 governments, from our families, from the
economy, etc.

* Example of two young brothers who were beaten and pressured to pray
(in school). The young boy refused and told the headmaster, that he
could not be a Witness at home, but then be someone else at school.
Another brother was tortured and vomited blood for 90days, but he kept
his integrity and prayed that the other brothers being held would not
surrender, but stay loyal.

* One sister battled cancer for 17 years but never quit going to
meetings. Another young brother faces pressure from young ladies
everyday to commit immorality - but he remains clean. Another couple
used to be loved by their family and friends when they were in the
world, but once they learned the truth - they were shunned.

ok i have asked several of my friends and they have never heard of being chased by a committee before.

so i am hoping someone has some insight.. .

i'll give you background and yes i am not innocent in the situation but what i was raised to believe is being contradicted by the actions of the elders.. .

Restrangled....I remember so well when all of that happened to you, however until today, seeing it in words, do I start to understand the damage that was done to you.

My df/ing was no where near as traumatic - probably because I did not show up or even hear about it for some time. I did know the 3 on the committee though...

#1 elder. Was having an affair with his wife's biblestudy about 8 years earlier (I am sure he was dissappointed that he did not get the juicy details of my audulterous affair since we were all privy to the details of his)

#2 elder. I do not think he had reached puberty yet

#3 elder. A very okay elder
