my son grew up with one of the young brothers in the kingdom and after graduation both him and my son left the kh.
the young man who left the hall fell into the wrong crowd and i mean a really dangerous crowd and as a result of him getting involved in illegal activity he was murdered.
i really feel for this young man, because he was a decent kid.

I would say that is very good for a witness funeral. Usually it is 5 minutes of how the person loved Jehovah, went to all the meeting, was out in field service regularly and maybe a mention of their birthdate and then the speaker is off and running with 40 minutes of the Infomercial.

I got married at 20. It had nothing to do with sex (especially considering the sexual appeal of the eligible bachelors in my hall). It had everything to do with my parents. They forbid me from moving out of the house unless it was as the wife of a spiritual brother. All of my older siblings were married and out of the house and I had to get out too.

so i went to the hall today for a funeral and took a look at the bulletin board.
i was surprised to see a letter stating the dc for michigan would be held at the local assembly hall instead of the big convention center in ohio where it had been held the past few years.
have you all heard about this?.
They just finished our Assembly Hall here in Denver. It sounds like it is going to be used most weekends throughout the year - including 7 District Conventions this summer. The GB-2 should look into building a hotel close by so they can rake in even more $$$$. Maybe a restaurant too - let all the sheeples know where they can eat and sleep.
soooo i fired up the interwebs to come looking for the date of the memorial, as a dear friend who stood by me through those crazy and sadly wasted years in dub-dumb mentioned she had seen a still faithful member at the library... she said he invited her to "the world wide memorial" .... and i was pretty sure that there had been a full moon yada yada and the memorial had come and gone.... .
i ended up coming back here to verify and realized she must have been asked to that lame ass event where "the same talk is given from every platform" and ooooh how fired up can you be about virtually nothing?
anyway, nice to see the place is still rockin' and that there is a continuity of personnel (that means old timers!
Chickpea - So wonderful to hear from you. I have thought of you often and wondered how you have been. You were one of my first friends over at JW Recovery when I first started exiting :) so I have always felt a connection. I have become good friends with a transgender in Minneapolis (Male to Female) and through her I have met many wonderful transgender people. this past saturday, i was watching the georgetown/syracuse game, and a nike commercial was played during one of the breaks.
i couldn't locate the exact commercial, but below is a variation of it that has scenes from the same one that aired on saturday.
man did i feel some heavy resentment towards the wt during and especially after the commercial aired.
A little off the subject Theocratic Sedition, but I am so going for Georgetown to go all the way this year (My Buffs just cannot get the job done :) That was an awesome game. Heading to Vegas in one week for March Madness - can't wait!!!!
And yes, there are a lot of things in my youth I would have loved to have done....like going to a Friday night high school football game would have been unbelievably awesome. However, I probably would have gotten drunk, taken drugs and then slept with the whole football team and ultimately brought shame on Jehovah's clean organization. So happy I had to stay home and study my red Youth book instead.
