So very, very sorry. It is frightening how much we love our pets. We have five and they are the center of our world. Most of our circle of friends are animal lovers also...We have a big memorial dinner together whenever one of us has a pet cross over "The Rainbow Bridge". It does help to mourn with like minded friends.

This whole story is terribly unfortunate.
Two young men with way, way too much testosterone running through their bodies and way too little common sense. I do not beleive GZ should be another victim of America's incarceration system for the next 30 years, however I do not feel he should be able to walk free either.
I am so glad I am not one of the jurors - they have a very tough job ahead of them.

So this mother cooks, cleans and even does their laundry for them!! She speaks sweetly, smiles and wears pretty little dresses etc. etc.
What happens when these young men marry that pretty little pioneer sister in the hall who also never had to do any chores because she was pioneering and had a mother that did everything for her?

Cedars....
literature stands can now be ordered by certain US congregations from the Society for a fixed price of $47 per cart
Really? They really can't donate a crap-cart to the congregations?

Higher Education
by XBEHERE inwe have co visit this week.
its official, after months and months of college bashing including but not limited to the wonderful jeremiah book the co's are hitting it hard with their talks now.
same as the jeremiah book, higher education sucks and worldy people suck.

Besides learning to think and reason, you also realize there are a lot of wonderful and interesting friendships to be had with "worldly people".
The GB certainly do not want us realizing that there are a lot of great people in "the world"

This is a subject that absolutely sickens me. So many beautiful young lives wasting away in a cell. So many heartless prosecutors!

During Your IN Years If You Had Anointed At Your Hall, What Were They Like?
by LoisLane looking for Superman inthe scoop of humanity at one khall, the anointed ones" were a mixed group.. one bro, h. had been in for eons.
he was df for adultery, back in the day when they would announce your sin openly from the platform to everyone.
he just kept on coming and partaking until he was reinstated.

- My great grandparents were of the annointed. They were lovely people from the Russel era. They converted from their Catholic faith, so it was natural to go on believing that heaven is waiting.
- My uncle professed for years, but was then DF'ed for homosexuality (60's). When he was reinstated he then had the earthly hope.
- In the 80's we had a man in our hall that was well known for being a wife beater (I don't think he was too nice to his 9 children either). He was so self-important - especially at the Memorial. He was eventually DF'ed
- In my last hall we had a couple in their 30's (with the weirdest kids times ten), the wife started partaking and then the husband started. I would love to hear the lastest on them and their kids (the kids are probably partaking now)

As an elder's wife and a pioneer of ten years, I can honestly say the only part of this thread that applies to me is ....
never washes or cleans the car
I did what I was told by my father and then my husband. It was a hell of a life and I am glad to be free of the slavery.

Why JW's take on education is truly disingenuous
by Black Man inwe've all waxed poetic about the jw views on higher education and how they truly stifled people trying to pursue an education.
but what did they offer as an alternative??!!.
at least mormons (who's theology is as equally fucked up as jws) had an accredited school in brigham young university that their people could aspire to attend.

Another element to this JW saga is that we were robbed of 4 years of fun. I have watched my two daughters have the absolute time of their lives at CU these last 4 years. The age of 18-22 should be a very, very happy time in our life. Instead many of us were beating the pavement, pounding on doors and desperately looking for a marriage mate so we could move out from our parents house, while we worked nights cleaning toilets.
