Seems odd that the Bible never mentions Pryamids?
by dropoffyourkeylee indoesn't it seem strange that the bible never mentions the pyramids?
how could someone go to egypt at that time and not even so much as mention the huge monuments?

And now we have Ben Carson saying that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain. Hard to believe Moses forgot to mention that tidbit! -

I Hate the Sound of the Word Jehovah
by cofty inlistening to clips of the latest manipulative video from the watchtower i realised how much i detest that word - jehovah.. sometimes i have thought it would be interesting to observe a meeting or part of a convention.
every time i heard that word i would be unable to stay in my seat.. i have a visceral reaction every time i hear it.
it stands for so much that i have contempt for.

I thought it was just me that hated the word. Growing up in a small redneck town in the middle of nowhere, the kids in grade school and junior high always made fun of me by calling me "Jehovah". I guess my hatred for the name goes much deeper than kids making fun of my religion. -

Invisible Rulership - one of the dumbest things I ever believed in
by Black Man inhaving now been out of the cult for a few years, it really shocks me about some of the nonsense i used to believe in.
like for instance, christ ruling in the midst of his enemies, but doing so invisibly.. let's let that one sink in for a minute.
you've supposedly got a king who is ruling for a kingdom, but it is an invisible rule.

The beauty of selling an invisible product is that you do not need to prove anything. Genius! -

48th ANNIVERSARY of me GOING TO PRISON
by Terry ini was twenty years old.. as a jehovah's witness, i had no career path ahead of me, no college to attend, and no prospect for my future other than.
knocking on people's doors and scanning the horizon for signs of armageddon:).
i was engaged to a 17-year-old witness girl i had met at the mineral wells assembly.. what was our future together?

Terry, I am visiting my brother in MPLS this weekend. Just last night the two of us were reminiscing over what a beautiful book that was. Thank you once again for sharing your story with us. -

12. Electrical safety. Only competent persons should work on electrical systems.
Really?!
In the event of an accident, the branch office should be informed
Is that before or after the ambulance is called?

Did an EX-JW wake you up to TTATT or did you put the effort to wake up yourself?
by John Aquila inhow many of us were woken up by some apostate yelling false prophets at a convention?.
how many of us were woken up by someone holding a sign and yelling, what happened to 1975.
how many of us were coerced to investigate the wt because some ex-jw pulled up a bunch of old watchtowers magazines and told us to read the false predictions?.

Being married to a hypocritical elder for 20 years did it for me. It was a slow process, but once I saw that the elder arrangement had absolutely nothing to do with holy spirit, everything else quickly followed.....The snowball effect. -
