they just posted the simplified august study watchtower on jw.org.. paragraph 11 of the "expectation!

" article says this:.

do our comments on this board affect witnesses to the point of questioning their faith?

Yes, my faithful father related to me Monday that one of his very progressive bible studies looked at an "apostate sight on the Internet" and quit studying after reading about the pedophiles within the org. My mother gasped at the horror of such a lie and my father looked so sad at his loss. I looked at a dirty spot on the rug for what seemed like forever, until I knew it was safe to look up and change the subject.

one hundred and thirty six years this july of the worlds most published and least read magazine: the inglorious watchtower.

nothing in it which is original has been of any use to mankind.

A big hello and thank you

i just wanted to introduce myself and say a big hello to all of my mentally diseased friends.. i say friends because i have been lurking for some time so it feels like home (us lurkers are a bit scared and cautious so it takes a while).

i won't bore you with too many details, but i am a born in, currently serving as the cobe of a congregation.

my wife and i have pioneered for the last 10 years and were shaken awake by that ridiculous 15th july 2013 wt about the generation and 1914.. my wife who is much smarter than me has questioned for years.

So happy you are here! I reg pioneered with my ex for many years too. It is so nice now to live a peaceful, quiet life free from guilt and stupid time consuming activities.

How many times did we have to go through that book in the 70's? Every damn Tuesday night, sitting on a cold folding chair in a pretty little cotton dress in someones's smelly basement. I just wanted to be home watching TV, doing home work or playing with dolls, but no that book meant our very LIVES.

i find it hard to believe that adults on this forum make such a big deal about not celebrating birthdays, x-mas, easter, halloween, etc, etc, etc.

i grew up as a jw kid and it actually made me feel good, being different from the other kids in school.

we went to meetings.

watched Hockey Night in Canada with my Dad on Saturday nights

We obviously had extremely different upbringings. Watching Hockey would never, ever have been allowed in my JW home growing up. Very violent and very worldy. In fact, if we had the nerve to suggest watching something like this, we would have had a Saturday night family study on why Jehovah hates violence.

I had a happy childhood with lots of love, however going to a high school football game on Friday night would have meant the world to me. I probably would not have taken all my clothes off and spread my legs for the entire football team, but the society had to error on the side of caution now, didn't they?
