How Many JWs actually Watch JW.TV?

what do you know from your own experience and talking to other active jws?

i know from my own informal, non-scientific survey that most jws do not watch jw.tv.

From all the dubs I am in contact with, it is the Alpha and the Omega. You would think those 7 invented TV.

The 1995 Generation Change

i was just a teenager and have a vivid memory of sitting in a chair doing a microphone for the sunday meeting.

everyone was commenting that it didn't mean the end was far off, and it didn't change the condition of the dead, or the 144,000, or the trinity so we should still remain faithful.

this is my first memory as a kid being just a teen that i ever had a single doubt.

I remember it like it was yesterday. My husband and I were pioneering. We were so excited about Jehovah's chariot moving forward with new light and we were witnessing it all. It was nothing short of thrilling! How close our deliverance truly was.

That same week that the Watchtower came, my oldest brother was visiting my parents in the next town over. He had been out of the JW scene ever since he witnessed first hand the Bethel unrest in the late 70's. He was never DF'ed and kept most of his (anti)JW thoughts to himself. My brother and I were driving down a residential street, he was behind the wheel and I casually mentioned the latest Watchtower with the generation change. He literally slammed on the brakes in the middle of the road and turned his whole body toward me and said ..."Do not joke with me, tell me the truth!! They made the change?" His voice was a couple octaves higher than normal. His reaction actually scared me. He contained himself and mumbled something to the effect of ..."Those horrid bastards"

i noticed that anthony morris iii just said on the broadcast: "while we cannot control everything that an individual might say, it is clear that over the decades protecting children from abuse is a top priority for this organization.".

Romance After Walking UP.

in the jw world when men look for marriage mates, their criteria are young, gorgeous, regular pioneer, submissive, no children, ------and hopefully no in-laws..

when woman look for a marriage mate in the jw world, he has to be baptized, but better if regular pioneer, but better if a bethelite or pattersonite, but better if ministerial servant, but better if elder, but better if elder and successful businessman, but better if elder and a doctor, or a lawyer with a big house and a pool, but better with all the above and no children and no in-laws..

what do single men look for?.

so i went out today with my broken leg and got accosted by an old lady, with some magazines.. it was my first ever encounter with a jw in ten years, and i had said 'i know you are jw's, i'm not interested thank you.

" twice.....then she started talking about my broken leg and how wonderful we are made and how amazing the healing process is.... and that's when it all started...."i used to be a bethelite pioneer, now i'm an atheist doctor...".

she was with me a good 30 mins, her elder husband left very annoyed but she stayed, and she was dying to hear everything i spurted out, despite aggressively defending every point, from military engines to paedophilia.

A Renewed Friendship After 10 Years

a little background first....i have been dating my boyfriend for a year.

both of us are disfellowshipped.

we attended the same congregation 7+ years ago when we were both married.
