light or dark
by bigfloppydog ini would like to ask a question.
it is about "pessimism," verses "optimism.
" which are you and if one is pessimistic, how do you help change that?

Perception is just an experience -- and as such antecedes any judgment of "rightness" or "wrongness;" "truth" or "falsehood." Perception just is. (In a similar way, a moss-covered rock is neither true nor false; it is only what it is -- a moss-covered rock.) Evaluating something is technically an experience, too, in that it is the movement of atoms. But it is a very different kind of experience than perception. Perception involves an experience between the body and an external object; evaluation is a self-generative experience which occurs solely within the body. In one sense, an evaluation "just is" the same way that a perception "just is;" both consist of atoms moving in a particular way. But in another sense, we evaluate ABOUT something else, and thus can reach correct or incorrect evaluations, about that other thing. (I can correctly evaluate "sour-ness" to be an event between my body and a lemon, or I can incorrectly evaluate "sour-ness" to itself be an existing entity.) The standard for my evaluations is the actual nature of things.

Journal of Amercia Association has been warning people for years now that carbonated drinks will cause serious kidney problems over a period of time(in severe cases kidney transplants will be required)It also weaken the bones, making them brittle.
I attended a workshop at Stanford University, the topic was something like "Aging and the human brain"They believe highly processed foods, refined sugar, dyes, and anything carbonated is possibly the reason people have Alzhiemers(forgive my spelling) If you think about the "old days" People never had Alzhiemers, grandma was sharp as a tack at 100 years old (if she didn't die of something else)
Jan H, be careful of those juices, alot of them are loaded with surgar
DR.?? I like that, I will be sending you a bill.

Sedition in the Californian sun
by freeman inthis week i find myself a few thousand miles from my home on a business trip to california.
i look at it as a paid vacation and a chance for my young son to see what california is like for the first time.
he thinks the girls are hot, and i have to agree.

Bill Bowens Highjacked thread
by CC Ryder inbill bowen has started an organized effort to help innocent vicitms and their families to recover from the abuse they suffered and the way the wts has handled their cases.
he has started a thread to see if anyone among us here at jw.com would like to help in those efforts.. someone, who we are all familiar with, has disrupted bill's request with equally insensitive remarks and intent as that of the recently deactivated fred hall and bleep.
he states that he has the right to post anywhere and say anything he wants, well, hopefully simon has a different answer!.
