Life is ever changing, look at each day with an open mind.Right now you ..yes i mean you..are not in the box because you said you are questioning what you do , say, and believe, that is a healthy attitude. As long as you continue to question yourself..it means you are not stuck in one way of thinking(therefore I doubt you will ever get sucked into another cult)There is no black and white...just many shades of grey.

Have I Learned to Think Outside of My Box?
by IslandWoman ini was thinking today ( as i have many times) of those days in the jw world.
over and over i now find it incredible that i could have thought that shunning was "good", that the door to door work was "productive", that to plan on allowing my child to die rather than to take blood was "god's will", that "worldly" people cannot know god, etc.
etc.. it all seemed right, it all seemed good, it all seemed god approved.

Wow..I did'nt really expect all these replys.I guess there are some good marriages out there. My bf says he does'nt want to get married because the Government gets too involved. You think this is just a line?
He says he feels like we are married, why should we involve the government? I totally trust him,,but sometimes I feel he wants an out ...just in case he meets someone else or it just does'nt work out.
Another weird thing is , he wants me to have his baby.
I'm just really confused!!So glad alot of you have found true love.

light or dark
by bigfloppydog ini would like to ask a question.
it is about "pessimism," verses "optimism.
" which are you and if one is pessimistic, how do you help change that?

Perception is just an experience -- and as such antecedes any judgment of "rightness" or "wrongness;" "truth" or "falsehood." Perception just is. (In a similar way, a moss-covered rock is neither true nor false; it is only what it is -- a moss-covered rock.) Evaluating something is technically an experience, too, in that it is the movement of atoms. But it is a very different kind of experience than perception. Perception involves an experience between the body and an external object; evaluation is a self-generative experience which occurs solely within the body. In one sense, an evaluation "just is" the same way that a perception "just is;" both consist of atoms moving in a particular way. But in another sense, we evaluate ABOUT something else, and thus can reach correct or incorrect evaluations, about that other thing. (I can correctly evaluate "sour-ness" to be an event between my body and a lemon, or I can incorrectly evaluate "sour-ness" to itself be an existing entity.) The standard for my evaluations is the actual nature of things.

Journal of Amercia Association has been warning people for years now that carbonated drinks will cause serious kidney problems over a period of time(in severe cases kidney transplants will be required)It also weaken the bones, making them brittle.
I attended a workshop at Stanford University, the topic was something like "Aging and the human brain"They believe highly processed foods, refined sugar, dyes, and anything carbonated is possibly the reason people have Alzhiemers(forgive my spelling) If you think about the "old days" People never had Alzhiemers, grandma was sharp as a tack at 100 years old (if she didn't die of something else)
Jan H, be careful of those juices, alot of them are loaded with surgar
DR.?? I like that, I will be sending you a bill.

Sedition in the Californian sun
by freeman inthis week i find myself a few thousand miles from my home on a business trip to california.
i look at it as a paid vacation and a chance for my young son to see what california is like for the first time.
