It is nice to see all the communications of warmth and thoughtfulness. Very different from what I experienced in my last days with the organization. -

Glad I won't have to sit through that. I remember when they read the letter about this and said the Regional Building Committees (RBC) were no more and they changed it to the Local Design Committee (LDC).
The brother reading the letter read the words: "ALL building projects are CANCELED."
The expression on their faces was priceless. It was a WHAT…?... moment. Some thought it was read wrong and had to have it read again. Some asked about all the money that they had given to the society and what was going to happen with it now. We were informed the society can use it any way they see fit.
Like we didn't see that coming. Once they had all the money - no more projects, new or remodel without LDC approval. How long do you think they'll expect that carpet to last now?

Stuckinarut2: “I've seen it coming for a while....and while the way it was done stinks, I'm really happy to finally be free!”
I saw it coming too and knew it was only a matter of time. I had to reason with myself…Why am I still doing this, why am I letting people I would never associate with outside the religion get to me and treat me this way?! Beating them to the punch brought more satisfaction than I could have imagined.
Billy the Ex-Bethelite: “I remember that feeling. After all the work that I'd done slaving for the org and that pathetic congregation, I was removed in such a way as to try to humiliate me. There was a sting,”
Yes, 40 years in – 23 of those years as an appointed man. Funny how they forget that. Humiliation is a tool they wield well. I have many a story of how vindictive some of these men were. One comes to mind readily – put the poor brother in charge of cleaning toilets to see how humble he was, too see if he would accept it. I remember them having a good chuckle about that. Yes there is a sting, but when it’s coming from hornets, it’s time to leave the nest. Remember hornets are predators – much like the men I used to call friends.

MAJOR DOCTRINE CHANGE IN 1/15/2014 WT ON GENERATION TEACHING
by EndofMysteries inthe generation scripture no longer is speaking about 'the end'.
i'll quote it...... side note: tons of lies in this article, i'll point out at the end of the post.
"yet, jesus words at matthew 24:34 give us confidence that at least some of "this generation will by no means pass away" before seeing the start of the great tribulation.".

One plus one equals four...the sky is green...Why? Because they said so. It's believe or be destroyed even though they have no clue what they're saying!
It's like Abbott & Costello's Whose on First.

Yes ToesUp I believe you're right...a lot are waking up from their long slumber. Much of what I saw and experienced could fill volumes. The hypocrisy is rampant. I like to call it the spiritual Two Faced - Little Big Man syndrome... (No offense to anyone short in stature).
and to JamesThomas (I like the court jester - reminds me of so many elders I know) - So true about imaginations.
Remember:
“The main thing to do is pay attention. Pay close attention to everything, notice what no one else notices. Then you'll know what no one else knows, and that's always useful.”

Synchronicity - the simultaneous occurrence of events that appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Freedom. It’s funny how much you can take until something and someone(s) pushes you over the edge. The edge you were told that leads to certain death, but instead you find freedom.
Flight takes place, you grow wings and soar into the night that is suddenly as clear as day.
Synchronicity is inevitable. First time post, but long time reader. Today I was going to speak about starting the long road of recovery from being a long time Jehovah's Witness and wouldn't you know, something similar was already posted. It's amazing how we are so much alike in our thoughts.
It brings to mind the fictional quote made by actor Mel Gibson in the movie Braveheart when he portrayed the Scottish rebel leader William Wallace:
"Aye, fight and you may die. Run and you’ll live — at least a while. And, dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade ALL the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take OUR FREEDOM!"
"Every man dies, not every man really lives."
The days of being afraid and looking over my shoulder are now in the past. It is time to really live "the real life."
I was previously an elder and saw my fair share of the good ole boys network, favoritism, and cronyism, whatever you’d like to call it. It's amazing how much some of them think of themselves. They fail to realize their power is all an illusion without the religion. Minus the religion they are nothing.
I awakened a few years ago and wondered when I would see the light, come to my senses and end all connections with the society. After many years and supposed friendships, many have a hard time as Idid with walking away and not looking back. I do feel sorry for those who choose to stay because they feel there is nothing else, but we all have the freedom of choice and I know that making certain choices can be hard. In the end it's all for the best.
When you finally realize that most of what you had been taught was false and you wake up to the lie; you have to pinch yourself to see if you’re dreaming. Then you wonder, how you could have been fooled when the answers were right in front of you. Next you wonder if you're deceiving yourself and you may start thinking you're the one with the problem.
Never wonder that! When others try to impose their will on you,do not give in.
It brings to mind the line in the poem byWelsh poet Dylan Thomas: "Do not go gentle into that goodnight." Oh, they would like us to just disappear, but here we are together helping each other day by day.
Thank you Ray Franz for opening my eyes and thanks to all of you for providing support, refreshment and laughs along the way.
Thank you Simon for providing one of the many tools used in my escape. It was indeed a long, self-inflicted prison sentence. Looking forward to the adventure ahead.

not that i think i have much to contribute to the discussions here, but more out of a desire to show that yet another person has learned ttatt.
i am a fader, not discussing ttatt with anyone as i know the inevitable outcome it would have.
