Did you read my words? If so can you highlight where I said "drug addicted mothers make drug addicted children"?
BTW Independant_ ire hope you are enjoying your fade, i would not worry about the local congo finding you; you have given little away.
My congo has not found me here, and i am easy to identify every time i post here
I don't know about that. There are spies everywhere, I tells ya!! **Sister Tre dons her undercover glasses**

Hi Independent_ Tre, you brought up the subject of how hard it is to watch young children being taken into care whose parents are irresponsible and drug addicts, in post 198. Thus you joined the two together, not me.
Um, no it was you.
You can not have it both ways, if this woman is ill she needs support, if not who are we to criticise her life choices?
The hell I can't. Ever heard of constructive criticism?

*******And on the lighter side******
If I end up being outed & my fade exposed, as I have revealed far too much about myself in this thread, I am OFFICIALLY blaming ALL of you!

Excuse me David, where did I say that drug addicted woman's children will grow up to be drug addicts? The system I was referring to is the foster care system of the U.S. And you're absolutely right, drug addicts are everywhere and guess what some of them DO actually take care of their kids! I know this for a fact personally, not professionally.
And let me clarify a few things before you go guessing and spouting, instead of reading. Part of the reason, I work with these children ( and some adults) is because I've lived around it (family) and lived through it. So being exposed to that type of environment definitely creates a passion for change, not for making excuses and lame @ss defenses. Dependency is a motherf*cka. And dealing with anyone who is addicted takes energy, patience, and the ability to confront bullsh!t when you see it.
So pardon me, if what I say seems a bit harsh for your delicate ears as it seems you would rather me coddle these individuals, than to actually work with them and give them the uncut, straight dope (pun intended) consequences of their irresponsible actions.

Geez-Louise!!. Cog, don't be such a poo-poo head as my 2 year old would say. Stop taking an internet forum so personally and issuing personal attacks and so forth.
If this woman is so capable of taking care of 14 kids with no help. I say fine. She should go rent out a gigantic shoe and her and her children can live there happily ever after in the mess she's created.
****bangs fist on computer keyboard**** Wow, I never thought that I, a really easy going WOMAN with children of her own, would be accused of being a hate filled angry WOMAN!! That's new. I guess I better get used to it, really.
Anywho, I think I'll let my main girl Cog Dee have the last word on this one, as it seems she's sure to reply without saying anything new. Your Turn!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Purps, that sounds like a book I should definitely read ( or maybe not). As I get so angry, I'm likely to blow my top!!
I'm laughing as I type this. No really I am.
Oh Dave, Dave, Dave... what would you like me to do? Hold her figurative hand and say "There, there, Hon....It's okay. Have as many babies as you like. Why not shoot for 20!" Who are we to condemn this Frankenstein-ish bastardization of medical technology?
Maybe my "ire" if you will, comes from having to look square in the face of irresponsible parenting.
And you know what? The eyes on that face are usually closed and it's the most beautiful face in the world because that face is only a day old. The triage nurse has called me up to find out what to do with this beautiful face, cause Mom is a drug addict, and all 7 or 8 of her other children are all in state custody and she has since checked out AMA and has left the hospital, no name, no nothing. And dropped this child into the world as if it were yesterdays news. Do you know what it's like to have to place a 2 day old infant in foster care? Do you know what it's like to see a child come in to the emergency room because of abuse or neglect suffered at the hands of mothers ( and fathers) too caught up in there own issues to properly care for a child? Come do my job, 40 hours a week. Then maybe you can begin to comprehend real "ire".
IMO, this woman is too caught up in her own issues and obsessions to realize the potential harm she is doing to these children. And she probably cares the least bit about how her actions are impacting her family. And of course the public can probably kiss her @zz, even though it will be this very public that will end up paying for these children.
So before you go throwing your accusations of misogyny and contradictions, why don't you stroll on down to the county hospital or whatever they have in Hertfordshire, and take a look see at what happens when a woman ( or man, because outside of this extreme case of sperm donors, I believe men who father these children hold equal responsibility) thinks nothing of producing a child that she can barely care for. Then follow that child on down the years in the "system". Dave, you have no idea....
Well, well, well, it turns out this nutjob,... excuse me... whack job, no wait...this poor woman whose actions do not deserve the least bit of public scrutiny, was smarter than at first glance. Turns out her family has hired a PR firm to handle all the publicity. YAYY!! Exploitation of the reproductive process at its finest.....
Octuplets' mom hires PR agency
February 3, 2009
LOS ANGELES -- The mother of the longest-living octuplets in the U.S. is being deluged with offers for book deals, TV shows and other business proposals, her new spokeswoman said Monday.
Hundreds of requests have been made since Nadya Suleman gave birth to six boys and two girls a week ago, said Joann Killeen, president of Killeen Furtney Group, a public relations company.
"She's the most sought after mom in the world right now," Killeen said. "Everyone wants to talk to her."
Suleman, a 33-year-old single mother, already had six children, ages 2 to 7, when she gave birth to her octuplets on Jan. 26.
AP
And when her 15 minutes of fame runs out, I wonder who'll foot the bill for all the clothing, feeding and medical care that these children will need? Sorry, right now there's no "father" figure to come in, hold up his right hand and pledge allegiance to raising these kids. And as far as all the starving children in the world, its true they are the ones that deserve our compassion. If sympathy for her is what's being sought, I suggest checking in the dictionary between sh!t and syphilis. You won't find any here.
Cog - let it go okay. YOU were the one that posted challenging/questioning me about what I know about the DSM, as if any of that even matters on an internet forum. If you carefully read my post, you just might see that I said everyone is assuming things and that you cannot diagnose anyone over the internet. But as I said before, this my friend, is the internet NOT, a person's medical record. Anyone is free to post whatever the heck the like and if it is my opinion that this woman is a nutjob, so be it.
And of course opinions are like ________, everyone has one.
How do we know the woman is obsessed with popping out babies? - Answered above
Those were all assumptions made by people reading the article. The article did not state any of those things as proven facts. - This is an internet forum, so assumptions are being made anyway, not just by me.
How can you guarantee the woman can be diagnosed with multiple issues? Have you ever met her, talked to her or spent time with her? - I do not have to sit down to afternoon tea with this woman to know that she's off her rocker. Another assumption. Of course, in order to diagnose anyone you have to meet with them and have the credentials. But then again this is an internet forum, not the private room of a mental health clinic.
Do you have any mental health qualifications? Are you aware of the diagnostic criteria for mental health illnesses in the DSMV IV? Do you even know what that is? - Without revealing too much about myself here, I will say that I have a bachelor level and a masters level degrees, the masters requiring over 900 practicum hours and extensive knowledge of assessing individual and their environments on ALL axis of the DSM. I also have 7+ years professional experience in hospitals and non-profit agencies. So um, yeah.
If you did, you would probably know that you cannot drive someone else into having mental health problems simply by living with them and having children. - WRONG!! - Environmental stressors can trigger psychological problems and other mental health issues.
Unlike you, I will not assume that no one else is knowledgeable about mental health issues, nor will I ask you for your qualifications. Don't take it personally, but this is an internet forum so you should not have taken my responses as directed toward you only. The issue is one of medical ethics and morals, not about me justifying my posts through my credentials.
