QFR August 15, 2014 - Resurrection and Marriage
by wisdomfrombelow inthe article addressed luke 20:34-36 and now they finally admit jesus could have been referring to the heavenly resurrection.
they said "put simply, the answer is that we cannot say" which is surprising because they have something to say about everything.
perhaps all the old people who are waiting the new world as widow and widowers want to know if they have a chance to be reunited with their dead loved one.

Would WTS use: 'right to be forgotten'?
by Da.Furious inas you are aware of the new ruling that was made by the european court that allows anyone to apply for any old stuff on the internet search engines to be removed basically untagged.. there are several articles discussing this new ruling and how this will impact search engines and peoples life.
apparently a paedophile in addition to the person who won the case applied for this 'right to be forgotten'.. the question here, i know in the us there is the freedom of speech and apparently this ruling will not have much effect on usa, do you think the wts will apply for something like this and request all old material they have published prior to 2000 be removed completely from the search engines?.

Tom, this makes us no better than them!
In my honest opinion, it is less painful to die than to suffer all your life alongside the people you care about.

An increase in security at this summer's conventions??
by gingerbread inwe've heard from friends in two separate congregations in our city that convention security will be tight.. the brothers made announcements this week and reminded everyone to be sure to wear their name badges.
those that don't may be questioned and have their belongings searched.
the same will be happen to anyone arriving during the sessions.

Blondie has a valid point, legally no one is allowed to open or search any bag unless he is a police officer or working on behalf of them.

The interesting thing that Sudan is the only country that has WTS Branch office publicly mentioned in the arab world!
Wonder how they got their approval in such a country.

I volunteer for security at Twickenham, London and the security and alertness is always high.
All attendees are asked to label their bags and any unlabelled bags unattended will be reported. Never searched stuff, but anything suspicious will cause the police, who are on site, to be notified.
The DC, aka Regional Convention, is a hot area for pickpocketing - several reports of valuables stolen at lunch breaks!

A Sudanese court has sentenced a woman to hang for apostasy after she left Islam and married a Christian man.
"We gave you three days to recant but you insist on not returning to Islam. I sentence you to be hanged to death," the judge told the woman, AFP reports.
Western embassies and rights groups had urged Sudan to respect the right of the pregnant woman to choose her religion.
Local media report the sentence would not be carried out for two years after she has given birth.
Meriam Yehya Ibrahim Ishag
Sudan has a majority Muslim population, which is governed by Islamic law.
The judge also sentenced her to 100 lashes after convicting her of adultery - because her marriage to a Christian man was not valid under Islamic law.
Earlier in the hearing, an Islamic cleric spoke with her in a caged dock for about 30 minutes, AFP reports.
Then she calmly told the judge: "I am a Christian and I never committed apostasy."
Amnesty International said the woman, Meriam Yehya Ibrahim Ishag, was raised as an Orthodox Christian, her mother's religion, because her father, a Muslim, was reportedly absent during her childhood.
In court, the judge addressed her by her Muslim name, Adraf Al-Hadi Mohammed Abdullah.
She was convicted of adultery on the grounds that her marriage to a Christian man from South Sudan was void under Islamic law, as practised in Sudan, Amnesty said.
She was arrested and charged with adultery in August 2013 and the court added the charge of apostasy in February 2014 when she said she was a Christian and not a Muslim, the group said.
Amnesty said she should be released immediately.
She is said to be eight months' pregnant.
