Bert & Ernies. The beer was cold and the waitresses were hot.

hopefully me fluffing my way through presentations didn't plant any seeds that got watered and grew.

Ok, it's been a long time... but any break was a good one.
When I was younger, our car group would go to the mall and this bakery had the best cream cheese cinnamon buns... TO DIE FOR! I only ever had them when out in the service. The older I got the better the selection from small delis and coffee shops... nothing like fresh baked goods and home made sandwiches! Hmmm, I think I am hungry!!
Anyone forced to go to McDonalds so the older ones in the car group could get their senior discount on coffee? I heard rumors that brother/sisters in Germany go for beer on their breaks... any truth to that?? Is coffee allowed anyway... it is addictive isn't it?
so i stubled on the following image on gbletters site.
you have to love how the watchtower uses circular reasoning quoting from older watchtower articles to reinforce their points.
i thought i would have a look myself to see what the toast signifies and its history this was very surprising.
When I was in school we studied symbolism in English class. Hmm, like there is no phallic symbol here... finger goes into the ring… thank about it.
I liked this link http://www.seiyaku.com/customs/rings.html - the ring has pagan, magical properties. I would love to see the WT come out with an article on this!
Rev. 22:19
and if anyone takes anything away......doesn't the older Bibles (This is obviously my old Winess one say?) "OR ADD" then God will take his portion away...etc. etc.
They haven't changed this one have they?
i am shocked and saddened by the things that i have learned from this website and a few others i've seen.
my grandma was a witness and my mom started to study seriously when i was 8 yrs.
i was baptised at 13-way too young.
Welcome to the site. It's a lot to take in... take one day at a time. Read, read, and read. I am recently out too.
congrats on seeing truth behind the "truth"!

Granted I took only 2 minutes at wikipedia... but you would think I would come accros something similar.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toast_%28honor%29
History
The practice of toasting originated in Ancient Greece, at a time when fear of poisoning was a significant concern. To put guests at ease, the host would pour the guests' wine from a common decanter, take the first drink to demonstrate its safety, then raise his cup to the guests and invite them to drink in good health.[citation needed]
The word 'toast' became associated with the custom in the 17th century, based on a custom of flavoring drinks with spiced toast. The word originally referred to the lady in whose honor the drink was proposed, her name being seen as figuratively flavoring the drink.[1][2]
CHEERS!
i grew up a witness and i never felt bad about my lack of material belongings a.k.a.
not having nice clothes in school, it didn't bother me that the other first graders were stuffing their faces with birthday cupcakes and i was in the school library researching fossils; but what did bother me?
my cool cousins.
nameless_one... nicely put!
my whole life, even when i pioneered, i dreaded field service.
i was always uncomfertable rolling up to peoples houses uninvited.
so i used to have this technique where i would pretend to ring the bell.
No, I never faked a knock.
No, I never faked a doorbell ring.
Yes, I was an idiot.
Seriously where were all these great ideas when I really needed them?
~Q
Yup, another idiot here too. I remember when I started going in service I only counted the time I was actually out knocking on the doors and subtracted the time spent in the car.
I hated handing in my field service report, it was always low and I felt so guilty. It was even worse when the brother would call me for the report and I was forced to tell him 'one hour'. guilt, guilt, guilt
There were also some months that I didn't go out in service so I ended up fibbing on my report. I would say I got one hour in and end up subtracting that hour from the next month. I felt even more guilty. Yes, completely messed up there. Gosh if I was going to flat out lie, why not give myself some pioneer hours. Crap I am such an honest person. LOL
