Rabies infection is caused by the rabies virus. The virus is spread through the saliva of infected animals. Infected animals can spread the virus by biting another animal or person. In rare cases, rabies can be spread when infected saliva gets into an open wound or the mucous membranes, such as the mouth or eyes. This could occur if an infected animal were to lick an open cut on your skin.

I'm pretty sure there are very good and less painful drugs for rabies these days. Used to be, you'd get an extremely painful series of shots through the stomach, or something like that. Now you get a series of painful ones in the tush.
I just wanted to address this misconception. Rabies is a viral infection. There is no known cure for rabies . The series of shots you get imediately after being bitten are a vaccine given to prevent you from contracting rabies. it is very important to get this vaccine as soon as possible after potential exposure. The disease of rabies is almost always fatal. The shots are no longer given in the abdomen. I have included the reference below. Treatments and drugs

BTW we had over 200 attend our memorial which was an increase and 3 people partook again another increase, Jehovah is surely blessing our congregation.

However, no physician would have made the blanket statement she did regarding "other treatments available" . She made it sound like there where always alternitives to blood transfusions. This is just not true !!! After a certain point a low hematocrit can only be remedied by transfusion.A witness MD would be likely to admit that there are circumstances where one's life might be lost due to refusal of a blood transfusion. They would further comment on how it is more important to please God even at the risk of one's life.

not trying to scare you mrs jones just pointing out reality. By the way not all of us now have government funded healthcare, in fact the majority of us do not have it. Please look at the examples not only in the us but worldwide government controled health care is rationed (there are provisions in this bill that do just that by the way) . What i was talking about was average wait times dramatically increasing for everyone . There is a disincentive for drs to go into primary care and a huge monatary incentive for them to go into specialties as the bill is currently.
