Moshe I am going to scare you right now. I am a medical proffesional . I wan't to point out some very scarey facts to you. Physicians have a high rate of substance abuse. Conservitive estimates say 8 to 12 % of physicians are impaired. What is even more frightning is that doctors tend to use much more potent drugs including but not limitedto opiods ,and the abuse goes often goes undetected for years. Here is an article i thought you might find interesting.

Where were you???
by free2beme ineveryone asked, "where were you and what were you doing when you heard about 9/11".
each story is always detailed and rather complimenting to the storying teller.
one day i want to hear someone be honest and say something like .... "i had the worst case of diaheria ever and in the bathroom, when my friend knocked on the door and told me?".

What amount of Borg demise would you consider victory?
by Mad Sweeney inthere's always a lot of discussion about "bringing down the wts" and how it will "never happen" because they'll just keep going and going.. so here's my question.
granted that barring some major international changes of a catastrophic scifi nature the wts is going to exist in some shape or form for the next hundred years and probably more, what progress on the "apostate" front would you personally consider a success?.
would you simply be happy to have all of your blood relatives out?.

Medical People: Lipitor vs Zocor (Simvastatin)? Which do you recommend??
by AudeSapere ini know we have a good representation of medically-trained people on this board so i want to put out this question:.
when treating a person with high cholesterol, which do you prefer: lipitor or zocor (simvastatin)?
if a person begins treatment with lipitor, is it necessary to use it for the rest of that person's life?

You have made an excellent decision AudeSapere. Never rely on antidotal experiences alone. I hope you do your research and go prepared with specific questions for your Drs. We should never take medical advice solely on what we read on a message board. After all ,even medical professionals who may answer you on a MB don’t know your complete medical history (including labs, family history, other meds, physical exam results etc)
By the way I am a Medical professional and would never be so arrogant as to tell you what the best medication for you is.

Please make informed choices when deciding whether to use statins or not. You should only make the choice after careful consultation with your own personel physician

Do not listen to the non medical advice regarding statins. Once a course of treatment with statins is started it is usually a lifetime course of treatment. (the only exception is if you exibit serious side effects ie poor liver function etc) By the way there are many more serious side effects than muscle cramping, these include liver and kidney damage.

I am considering to get a sofa bed for extra company in the future
by asilentone ini have tried sofa beds in the past, they are awful, but i would not be surprised if the quality of sofa beds has improved ever since.
any suggestions where to get comfortable sofa beds?
thanks!

ou might consider some of the higher end futons I bought one for company and i have found it far superior to sofa beds. The high end futons look just like a couch and the matresses contain a more confortable matress for sleeping

I have defeated almost every thing around here. I might as well just start posting some Bible articles to count this time
Hmm Bane I see you still are boasting and attempting to make your point in a disrespectful manner. You claim to follow the bible ,yet you seem to ignore what 1 Peter 3:15says.
But sanctify the Christ as Lord in YOUR hearts, always ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of YOU a reason for the hope in YOU , but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect.
You have clearly demonstrated your disregard for this scripture .Perhaps you should go and confess to the elders your sin Bane.
By the way Bane, the bible contains no articles only scriptures.

Bane you worry me. I do not mind you arguing your point (as long as you attempt to make your argument logical) however what you have posted in this thread is nothing more than name calling and illogical rhetoric. Surely you can make a more concise coherent argument in defense of your position. I pride myself as being open minded. So please, logically present your beliefs. Only those who are loosing an intellectual argument must resort to name calling. It demonstrates a lack of true conviction in your beliefs if you can not defend them in a logical manner. By the way using circular reasoning is a hallmark of one who lacks the knowledge to defend his position.
