Criminalazation is a totally different issue than health concerns. I merely am opposed to its' chronic use due to health issues. To be honest I think much to much money is spent by criminilizing its' use. Not everything that has bad effects on your health should be criminilized ie fatty foods.

one of the posts from that group was disturbing. was there really a song that had the following words (like bees that were molested) in it?
I miss some of the old lyrics. it was to bad that "like bees that were molested." was changed. haha. i use to love that part.
If this is true i am sure the WTBS legal department had a hand in removing this in light of all the child abuse cases.
Is anyone aware of which song this is in?

How about testiclar cancer? one study has linked pot smoking to a much higher incidence of testicular cancer. All I am saying is that no drug has no adverse side effects. Even aspirin has the potential for negative side effects.
Marijuana use linked to increased risk of testicular cancer
Risk appears to be elevated particularly among frequent and/or long-term users
SEATTLE — February 9 — Frequent and/or long-term marijuana use may significantly increase a man's risk of developing the most aggressive type of testicular cancer, according to a study by researchers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The study results were published online Feb. 9 in the journal Cancer.
The researchers found that being a marijuana smoker at the time of diagnosis was associated with a 70 percent increased risk of testicular cancer. The risk was particularly elevated (about twice that of those who never smoked marijuana) for those who used marijuana at least weekly and/or who had long-term exposure to the substance beginning in adolescence.

Thank you snoozy, It is of note that the author ( Steve Elliott an editor of a pot website) of the article is an avowed proponent of pot use , and is financially rewarded by supporting it. In all studies of a medical nature it is important to follow the money. In other words it is important to know who funded the study.

I will address one of the claims made by the previous author. He claims that..
"This fallacious conclusion is derived from a study by Dr. Donald Tashkin in which the UCLA researcher examined airflow resistance in the lungs of tobacco smokers compared to that in the lungs of marijuana smokers. Dr. Tashkin did find that daily pot smokers experience a “mild but significant” increase in airflow resistance in the large airways, greater than that seen in persons smoking 16 cigarettes per day."
This is not true. There have been many studies that arive at the same conclusion . Here is the latest one that i am aware of.
ScienceDaily (June 15, 2009) — Using a highly sensitive new test, scientists in Europe are reporting "convincing evidence" that marijuana smoke damages the genetic material DNA in ways that could increase the risk of cancer.
The researchers add that the ability of cannabis smoke to damage DNA has significant human health implications especially as users tend to inhale more deeply than cigarette smokers, which increases respiratory burden. "The smoking of 3-4 cannabis cigarettes a day is associated with the same degree of damage to bronchial mucus membranes as 20 or more tobacco cigarettes a day," the team adds.
"In conclusion, these results provide evidence for the DNA damaging potential of cannabis [marijuana] smoke, implying that the consumption of cannabis cigarettes may be detrimental to human health with the possibility to initiate cancer development," the article states. "The data obtained from this study suggesting the DNA damaging potential of cannabis smoke highlight the need for stringent regulation of the consumption of cannabis cigarettes, thus limiting the development of adverse health effects such as cancer."

ha ha I think it should be renovated and used as A maximumum security prison for pedophiles right on Adams street. That would further reflect the irony.

NYU Grad Students, NYU-Poly Undergrads Take Over ‘Sliver Building’
By Linda Collins
Brooklyn Daily EagleBROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A residential building formerly owned by the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society (Jehovah’s Witnesses) in Brooklyn Heights is now fully occupied as a dorm.
A recent edition of nyunews.com, a web edition of WSN, New York University’s daily student newspaper, calls the new dorm The Livingston and describes it as “the first NYU dorm in Brooklyn.”
Noting that the dorm is at 67 Livingston St., and is near Brooklyn Borough Hall and the 4/5 subway station, the article states that the building is “home to NYU graduate students and NYU-Poly undergraduates.”
It also says it is in “a quaint neighborhood,” situated between Clinton and Court streets, surrounded by residential apartment buildings and only a 10 minute walk from the NYU-Poly (Polytechnic Institute of New York University) campus, which is at MetroTech.
As the Eagle has reported, 67 Livingston, known locally as “the sliver building,” was previously owned by the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society (Jehovah’s Witnesses) and sold by the organization in 2007.
Watchtower spokesperson Richard Devine told the Eagle at the time that the property was built in 1988 and has 76 units on 26 floors, including one-bedroom and studio apartments, many with terraces.
“We acquired this building when it was still under construction,” said Devine, who is in charge of Building Maintenance and Construction for Watchtower. “It was designed to have one condo on each floor. We got it after the shell was completed so we redesigned the interior to have more and smaller units.”
Nyunews.com noted that there are four room-layout options for students at The Livingston: a shared studio for two people, a low-cost studio for two people, a one-bedroom apartment for two people and a small studio for one person.
“Furnished with hardwood floors, the apartments are relatively standard, each equipped with kitchen, bathroom and dining area,” reports nyunews.com. “Air conditioning is included and there is a common lounge area on the second floor. One-person studios have a small refrigerator but no sink.”

I seem to remember that witnesses frown on getting help from mental health professionals. Is it possible this had a role in her being released/ discharging herself from the psychiatric hospital?
