The meeting where the article regarding "approved bible study materials" was discussed in the September 2007 KM. I didn't want to drink the kool-aid anymore.

WHAT WAS YOUR AHA! MOMENT THATIT WAS TIME TO EXIT THE BORG?
by freewilly01 ini had a huge light bulb on moment as i wasy in therapy dealing with a nasty anxiety disorder for many years and having a huge trigger in my life finally silenced.
it was almost the last thing that i thought i would end up doing expecially if you asked my wife and myself even a year before our decision to " live " thats how i view it not decision to leave...........it was a decision to live.. .
my therapist psychiatrist asked me who are you?

What Freedoms Do You Enjoy That You Couldn't As A Witness?
by minimus inas jws, we were in bondage to the organization, its rules and its whims.
now, we do not have to follow their direction and believe that whatever we were being told was by "theocratic" arrangement.. so, what freedoms do you have now that you have been liberated?.

My husband and I watch porn together.
We got to adult stores for goodies
I think for myself.
I LISTEN to people when they speak, not just look for a chance to proselytize.
I set goals and make longterm plans
I enjoy the company of my non-jw family, well I always did, but now I'm free to admit it.
Oh, I listen to GOSPEL music without shame!!!

I saw a former acquaintance recently. I saw her first from a distance. She later approached me and started a conversation:
Jw: PurplePlus? How are you? What congregation do you go to?
Me: None
JW: Yeah, I haven't seen you around. Why not? Are you alright?
Me: Do you really want to know?
Jw: Yeah
Me: I'm not gonna get into it here. It's a long story. I looked into some things and stuff is not adding up.
Jw: Do you want to talk later?
Me: No. I'm okay.
Jw: I hope so. I hope things turn out well for you. See you later.
We KNOW that even if she was sincerely interested, talking to her would do no good.

Let's try this again...
Who on this board can relate to this experience?
I recently saw a "brother" while I was out and about. He asked if I still do the freelance work that I've done in the pass, because he and a sister needed my services. As much as I could use the money, I told him I don't freelance anymore. I could have done it, but I don't want any unnessary contact with "the friends". I've socially disassociated from my witness friends to facilitate my fade. If I would have accepted the job, imagine the exchange during downtime, "how are things? How's your husband? Do you think he'll accept 'The Truth'? You haven't visited our congregation for a while. Do you still go to $%^&*(#@ congretation?"
The encounter was brief and he went away. Please share your thoughts and/or similar experiences.

Yeah, there was one that I loved trusted more than the others. He seemed more compassionate and sincere.
