  Who on this board can relate to this experience?

  I recently saw a "brother" while I was out and about. He asked if I still do the freelance work that I've done in the pass, because he and a sister needed my services. As much as I could use the money, I told him I don't freelance anymore. I could have done it, but I don't want any unnessary contact with "the friends". I've socially disassociated from my witness friends to facilitate my fade. If I would have accepted the job, imagine the exchange during downtime, "how are things? How's your husband? Do you think he'll accept 'The Truth'? You haven't visited our congregation for a while. Do you still go to $%^&*(#@ congretation?"

  The encounter was brief and he went away. Please share your thoughts and/or similar experiences.

  I know a sister who had hip replacement surgery? Prince must have other reasons for refusing surgery, if this is true...

  What Has Hurt You Most About Being A Witness?

  for me, it's not having a "normal" childhood.

  being raised a jw will make you miss out on ordainary kid things.

  you can't have any friends except witnesses---and only jws that measure up.

  Like others have stated, I hate that I wasted my time, about ten years of my life. No matter what I do now, I can't help but think I could have been further along if it were not for those "lost years."

  Two by two going to a funeral!!

  i'm sitting at home watching cricket on the box( i know that's sad) and look out of the window and who do i see but two sets of people walking down the street calling on peoples houses.

  yes jehovah's witnesses.. the weird thing is that they are walking even slower than people in a funeral march.

  they look just as unhappy as if someone has just died.. also why do they go house to house in twos.

  Hmmm, maybe they're sent in twos to counteract a well informed householder. A witness wouldn't concede to a "non believer" in the presence of another witness.

  that is the bottom line for a witness.

  i have tried so many times to reason with witnesses, and they react the same as i did almost all my life.

  the only success i am having is hopefully planting some seeds, because that worked with me, over a period of time.. many threads on here describe reasonings and great points designed to "wake up" witnesses.

  The comments regarding people being ready to accept the truth about "The Truth" are sooooo true. I remember the moment I gave myself the option to leave. That changed averything and allowed me to see things for what they really are. Before then, nothing would get through.

  For me it was bringing a bible study to meeting. We had such fun with our studies, but after sitting through a meeting she looked at me and said "you've gotta be kidding".

  I've experienced the same reaction, especially towards the music.

  on a cult in america who's "christian" leader slept with everyones wife...even his sons!
