  grandparents have to realize also what goes around for the comes around.

  This is an excellent point. I've tried to get my parents to see this, that what they reap, they will sow. If they are continually disrespectful to me, the father of their grandchildren, there will come a time when my children will lose respect to for them.

  For example, we didn't hide from our oldest son that it was his JW grandmother who didn't want us at the wedding reception yesterday. Why should we keep this from him or let him think somehow we - or worse, he - was to blame?

  I think the JWs need to realise their actions come with consequencies. As we have been told often, you knew what to expect when you left...

  During my brief time attending a church (Holy Trinity Brompton, Knightsbridge), the music was just incredible - it made me very emotional and was a real credit to the people involved - I remember being bowled over by the professionalism of it. Sounds like you'll have a good time PP. If we were around I'd babysit for you!!!

  Hark at you! HTB! No ordinary wee church for sweat pea, eh?

  Yeah, the music is usually pretty good in church. Quite against who I once was, I now play the guitar in the praise band at our church. As Iknowall, Ninja and Hobo Ken can attest to, this isn't completely the opposite of what JWs would expect of me.

  I enjoy the sound of praising God through music. It's sort of been hardwired into us, I think, and is never fulfilled with any of the Kingdom Songs.

  Thanks for the offer of babysitting, btw, we may take you up on that sometime!

  It has to be a further move to disavow the Governing Body from any legal threat. What I mean is, how can the Governing Body be sued in a class action law suit, for example, if they aren't the ones leading the R&F into refusing blood transfusions, shunning babies etc etc?

  If each JW has the absolute authority over their destiny, then it's only them that's to blame when things go Pete Tong.

  However, if that is the case, the WT literature will be full of statements like "a mature Christian would wisely [insert course of action] as a demonstration of their loyalty to Jehovah". Is the "Keep Yourself in God's Love" book a textbook of how not to follow the leadership of the Governing Body (because they're not your leader, folks!) while emphasising the importance of doing that very thing?

  I'm sure the witnesses appreciate being prayed for, does it involve them seeing sense and following trinity as the true God?

  I wasn't there, so I can't answer that. Maybe it was they'd come out of a satanically inspired cult and be able to have Christ as their mediator. But like I said, I wasn't at the meeting.

  @ Quandry - Praise Gathering is an outreach ministry. It isn't simply a concert for "born agains" but non-Christians attend too. We've got the CD of the 2007 concert and they sound fantastic. 4 people from our church are in the choir.

  I should point out that at one of their prayer meetings (they have prayer meetings before each rehearsal) they were praying for the Witnesses in the Glasgow area.

  Alright I ment worshiping a False God aka involving another religions God you know as witnesses thats how they will see it, you know this you were once a witness? I myself view trinity as a false God.

  in this case you decided to keep quiet and not tell them.

  No, I don't make the habit of informing them where we go in the few occasions we go out for the evening. As I've said, I'm a 37 year old married father...If they ask I'll tell them, i.e. "the cinema" or "a restaurant". In this case they asked yesterday when they had to be at our home to babysit and I replied that I'd find out when the concert started.

  I hope your family wasn't too hurt by the actions of these people.

  Our children weren't hurt and I too hope that our extended family (i.e. my father-in-law, brother-in-law and new wife) aren't hurt. However, my feeling is that the Witnesses should experience the consequences of their actions.
