@ leftbelow - what a fantastic post, hands-down one of the best I've ever read on JWN. Don't let anyone hint at taking away these blessings from you; you know what's real and what isn't and when we've felt God, we know that it's for real.

Personally speaking, we had lost a baby son 6 years before we left the WTS. He died shortly after he was born due to a birth defect. My wife had carried from then onwards the desire for a little dark haired baby. Our oldest son always wanted a little brother. Two years later we welcomed our daughter, Grace, into the world. But we always had our little dark haired baby son in our hearts.

When we stepped out of the WTS in faith last summer, my wife immediately - and unexpectedly (believe me, this was the surprise to end surprises) - fell pregnant. In March of 2009 we welcomed our dark haired baby son, Fergus, into the family.

Throughout our journey, we had our hearts healed. We've lost family and friends, but every single one of them has been replaced by new friends, some of whom are like fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters to us (and those who know the church we go to can attest to the fine people who are now in our lives). God has blessed us.

I personally always carried a feeling and sense of low self worth. It affected every single one of my relationships. I've been healed of this and blessed with a new personality that doesn't major on doubt and low self worth. God has blessed my heart.

Financially we've received blessings. We've taken financial problems (I left my employment to run my own business this year, coupled with a calling to serve in the church in some capacity, so I work part-time) to God in prayer and every single time there has been miraculous intervention. The latest saw us praying over some hefty up-coming bill and asking God to bless us and intervene as meeting this bill was beyond our means. The next day a cheque was pressed into my hand as a 'gift' for some pro bono work I'd carried out. The cheque covered the bills. God blessed our trust in him.

More importantly, rather than following an aimless false prophet, we're now blessed by walking with Christ in our lives. Our children are free from a cult and have their whole lives ahead of them.

LeavingWT, thanks for starting this thread, it's been a real encouragement to read.

the drama was really ridicolous, man, but i noticed, in some of the jw objected to it as well,.

first of all my wife, she said it doesnt feel right, and she strongly disliked the music (she has no idea of my being at this forum btw).

then some friends, who also complained about it, but just to us, because they know, we do not judge them for their questions and almost doubts on some things.... i m sure there were more, but they just dont think out loud, and keep it to themselves.... anybody similar experiences ?.

Is the WTS preparing for a MASS EXODUS?

hobo ken and i were chatting about this yesterday.. the wts has past experience of losing vast numbers of members very quickly.

from their post-25 and post-75 experiences they will know how best to prepare their organisational structure to remain afloat when they experience another exodus.. we're only 5 years from the 100 year anniversary of ct russell walking into the dining room and announcing the gentile times had ended.

since then, millions of people have molded and adjusted their lives and personal expectations based on the date 1914. the wts must know that 2015 is going to bring with it one or two upset jws.... so, is the wts preparing for a mass exodus right now?.

Surely a smaller body of believers of say 3 million hard-core "how high?" jumpers is preferable to a sprawling, mostly ambivalent 7 million? Hey, with a small hard core group they could introduce tithing!

hey've been manouvering away from 1914 for some time now. It would be a very big mistake if they think they could recover from a mass exodus this time around, the internet is their nemesis and they know it.

I agree that they had been moving away from 1914. However, at the DC this year there were at least two manuscript talks where 1914 was very much front and centre!

there is an air of uncertainty but it is being put down to the end coming.

I was at a church service for a suicide victim a couple of years ago. The first words out of the minister's mouth were "there's no point in us trying to understand why..."

This flies in the face of the WTS stance, namely they need to have an answer for everything. Therefore, pretend that the unanswerable questions don't exist.

The WTS can't handle suicides. Remember, JWs are the happiest people on the planet and they reside in a spiritual paradise. So you can forget the dead person being remember fondly or their family being helped and supported; the dead person has brought disgrace on Jehovah.

The biggest issue the WTS is faced with re. suicides is finding a big enough rug to sweep it under.
