Do You Believe In "God"?
by minimus ini know many people simply think that believing in a "god" is simply ridiculous.
i don't.
i can't necessarily "prove" that god cares, or that god exists but i'll tell you what---when something awful happens i do pray to god and hope for the best..

"Remember, nobody can REALLY love you unless they know and love Jehovah first."
by AllTimeJeff in"unless they know and love jehovah first.
they love "jehovah".
they discuss how to make sure that though they are in charge, everyone doesn't see them, they see the great and powerful jehovah.... oh.

@ Chalam;
From wikipedia;
"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional or disciplinary response [ 1 ] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion. [2]"
I think Spike and Reniaa both fit the bill.

What is the JW theology?

i have seen so many arrows and spears thrown by jws, i want to know exactly what they are defending.. i want to see an explanation of "god" that is rational and can be understood.. doug.

@ Spike - you are correct, but only if Jehovah is Jesus.
This isn't a guessing game or a hit and miss search-the-WTCDRom-for-the-answers quiz; it's all there in the Bible, as Chalam has just demonstrated.
I'm interested, though, who are the others that the Holy Spirit leads us to?

PROVE that Jehovah's Witnesses have the "Truth".
by undercover inminimus started a thread asking people to prove that jws don't have the truth.... but, instead of proving they don't, i'd like to see someone prove that the witnesses do have the truth.. this is your thread jw apologists....convince me why you have the truth.. to all you apostates and nay-sayers, please allow the apologists to have their say without harrassing them.

@ Spike;
Jesus is Jehovah's foremost Witness. Even the name Jesus means "Jehovah provides salvation".
Think it through, Spike.
If Jesus is the means of salvation and the Holy Spirit witnesses about Jesus, and Jesus himself said Christians would be witnesses of him, where exactly does the term Jehovah's Witness come from?
- Jesus = saviour
- Holy Spirit = witness about Jesus
- Christian = witness of Christ

the holy spirit is a force to be reckoned with, enabled by Jehovah in whomsoever applies the scriptures with His insight. After all, Jehovah is the giver of every good gift and every perfect present, including whatever we do that is "good" or "perfect".
Who does the Holy Spirit lead us to?

Reniaa;
According to my research of the bible message atm the Jehovah's Witnesses are more biblical truthful than any other christian group by a mile and a half but I fully accept on these forums I might not get agreement.
Yeah but the topic of the thread is PROVE that Jehovah's Witnesses have the "Truth".
Jesus is the truth but Jehovah's Witnesses don't want any part of him, so how can they be the truth?

@ Spike
Why would they need to be Jehovah's witnesses?
Isn't it really all about Jesus?

with prayer, asking for it. Without a "properly reverent attitude" (a.k.a. "holy spirit") one cannot access the applications of the Bible correctly.
1. What are the applications of the Bible? Are these the Governing Body's publications?
2. When Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would lead us into truth and testify about him, is this the same thing as having a "properly reverent attitude"?
If I have a properly reverent attitude, I will imitate Jehovah who is holy, therefore it can rightly be said that I then have a "holy spirit". Then, the "holy spirit" of others will bear witness with my "holy spirit" that our "holiness" comes from Jehovah, and unites us in it.
At first I thought you were serious, then I read the above.

Back before my wife and I were married I was friendly with the (single) CO Clive Pitman. He told me one time that he didn't really like getting huge 3 course lunches as it always made him sleepy in the afternoon. His preference was for a simple meal of soup and sandwiches; like a normal lunchtime meal...
So, I had him round for lunch one time to my little pioneer flat and my girlfriend (who's now my wife) made soup and sandwiches. He was appreciative.
The next CO who visited us was the infamous Terry Armstrong. By now I was married, and we invited Terry and his wife for lunch during his visit. Again, my wife made homemade soup and a big pile of sandwiches.
When the sandwiches were brought through from the kitchen, Terry and Ann just looked at them and then at each other. I noticed that they only had one small half of a sandwich each. Towards the end of lunchtime Ann spoke up and said, "you know, the Governing Body expects us to be served with a proper 3 course meal at lunchtime."
My wife was only 18 at the time, we'd only been married for a few months, and having the CO and his wife round for lunch at the time was really stressful to her. She was worried sick that what we (both pioneers) were offering wouldn't be good enough. Ann's ungrateful comments confirmed her worst fears.
I've never forgotten the look on Gail's face as she apologised over and over again to those two ungrateful bastards.
It was 14 years before we ever offered hospitality to a CO again.
