That's why the pharmaceutical industry is heavily regulated. We can't trust greedy corporations go to completely unregulated.
Maybe you should do a bit of research into the regulators of the financial corporations. It's quaint that you have such faith in the government appointed regulators of the pharmaceutical industry. However, I wonder if such faith is blind delusion or not.
Research who was regulating AIG before its collapse. Read up on how that regulator was placed in such a position of trust and by whom. It's faith building stuff...

I love seeing apostates reduced to Watch Tower Society-esque name calling. "Conspiracy Theorists" = "Apostates". Unless one agrees with the government - or their chosen channel of communication - one is reduced to being a conspiracy theorist. "Oh, quick! Get the tin foil hats!!" Unless one agrees with the Governing Body - or their chosen channel of communication (the Watch Tower Society) - one is reduced to being an apostate.
What's even more intriguing is that I'm seeing the same people who display loyalty to the government attack Christians for their faith; faith is irrational, it seems. But when a person has faith in a government (or chosen channel of communication) that's not irrational. And to question such faith makes you a 'quack' or a 'nutjob' or a 'whack job' or a 'conspiracy theorist'.
As for Wikipedia, could it be possible that the government would edit a wikipedia entry to strengthen their case? No, surely the government has neither the power not the guile.
Let's start with the Watch Tower Society's claim that it was chosen by God in 1919 to be his sole channel of communication on earth.
this is not a thread to gain sympathy.
my life has changed dramatically over the weekend.
my husband (hoboken) has just left me and my two boys.. i'm not going to divulge all the details, but needless to say things are very tough emotionally for all of us.
I think the fact that it's taken her to today to get in touch is very telling. I wonder if she had to have a 'meeting' with Hobo's elder brother before she was allowed to contact you.

I was listening to Jay Hess's testimony and what I found interesting was that he said his spirit had left the WTS but his mind was still in. He was used as a 'trouble shooter' whereby he'd visit pastors, ministers or other people who were in some sort of ministry to JWs. He would go with a purpose of wearing them out and he'd do this by;
Anyway, listening to his tactics and methods of confounding apostate discussion reminded me of Reniaa's methods on JWN. I realise that Simon and others believe that Reniaa was genuinely a single-mum raising 3 kids, one of whom is disabled, another of whom is just a baby, and was truthfully searching for the truth about the WTS. However, I don't. I'm sure Reniaa was several people and their sole purpose was to get threads off topic, obfuscate discussions and continually deflect arguments and objections regarding legitimate WTS issues onto areas such as the Trinity and the divinity of Christ.
Out of interest, what did Spike do to get thrown off?
i have a question for the regulars on this site which are mainly ex-jws and atheist.
my first question is just for the atheist.
why do you guys spend so much time discussing and researching a book you believe to be fiction?
Rather hilariously, my mother called me a coward for leaving the Watch Tower Society. I think it's typical cult-think to point to those who have left as being cowards - or in this case losers - when leaving a high-control religious cult is one of the hardest things you'll ever do in your life. It just means that those who are still allowing themselves to be controlled by the Governing Body are left feeling shortchanged in some way, possibly because they're left living the drudgery of JW life, and have to result to cheap ad hominem attacks.
Welcome to the forum anyway, I look forward to seeing your attitude change over the months.

Reniaa and Spike have quit at the same time?
