It isn't a surprise that there are now almost 10k memorial partakers. It's fantastic news. I now of one local elder whose head will be spinning after he reads that news. His big 'how close are we to armageddon' barometer was the declining memorial partakers.
I guarantee you this will wake up a few more JWs. -

hey did you forget it feels good.
there is this elder in our family he comes to drop off the magazines to my mom here at my house you would think as a holly elder he would not be rude by stopping and saying hello to my mom who is still an active jw, but he won't even set foot in the house becase as you can see i have a beard and don't go to meetings anymore i'm telling yeh now that is christian.. think of one major thing in you life that you can decide for youself that probley will get you into trouble if you decide for yourself, i can't.

BURNING AT THE STAKE SOON TO RETURN.
by hamsterbait ini dont just mean in the islamic world but in the world of ex jwd.. i am so thankful that at the time i was seeking help and new ideas this board did not ritually hang draw and quarter those who wanted to hang on to thier witness views (even thought they were already swimming alone in a pacific ocean with no boat in sight).
we need to be kind to those we disagree with, not make them feel like satan.. why complain about shunning when we treat those who disagree with our views just as badly.. reniaa is now going back to the cult because there were too many judgmental posts - some of which i found very offensive because they disrespected her as a person.. all of us matter.
so many come here hoping for support.

Can we be pragmatic for a minute?
What's worse? A few acerbic posts on this forum, even a couple of nasty ones, or a religious group that demands unquestioning loyalty to the point of allowing children to die?
I know where I'd rather take my chances.
If the 'burning at the stake' reference is towards Reniaa then she is the one who has voluntarily climbed onto the stake and lit the match. She's choosing to be a martyr. No one here has driven her to it. -

I've known the guy for almost 4 years through podcasting, didn't know he was a Christian. Turns out he works beside 2 JWs. He called me tonight on my drive home and we had a long chat. I'm going to give him some inside info with which to reach out to his workmates with.

Blood Issue took my mom last night
by rwagoner inafter years of fighting a physical disability that ended in kidney failure and several bouts of respiratory/cardiac arrestmy mom landed in the hospital last week.
the doc's said she needed heart surgery and kidney transplants but before they could operate they need to get her blood count back up.
it had fallen well below what her body could naturally restore on its own she she needed transfusions.
