@ JWdaughter - yeah he's very strong, even the midwife was commenting on it as he had his first bath. His mum is doing very well, she's strong too and managed to deliver him with no pain relief!

Par 18;
If a person discontinues his Bible study, we may be disappointed. We hope that Bible students make the right choice, but each individual must "render an account for himself to God."-Rom.14:12.
That is correct, everyone will render and account for himself to God.
But who is the judge?
John 5: 22 For the Father judges no one at all, but he has committed all the judging to the Son, 23 in order that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He that does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
How will your average Jehovah's Witness fair when he stands before the Judge, Jesus Christ, and explains why he didn't give him the same honour as he gave the Father (whom JWs believe to be Jehovah)? What sort of account will he give of himself? "Oh, well, I spent at least 10 hours per month placing magazines! Doesn't that count??" Hmm...a magazine that says on the front cover "Announcing Jehovah's Kingdom"?
Never mind a 'bible study' rejecting WTS teachings, what about Jehovah's Witnesses, by rote, rejecting Jesus Christ's sacrifice and elevating the "faithful and discreet slave" to a position of authority above him? ("Jehovah and the 'faithful and discreet slave' class are well pleased with their efforts".)

9. Of course, not everyone responded to Jesus' efforts to help them. (Matt. 23:37) Some followed him for a while but then objected to his teachings and "would no longer walk with him." (John 6:66)
This is the second time in a few weeks where this instance of Jesus' ministry has been cited. First, it was to explain why cease to be active JWs. This time it's used to explain why people don't respond to the door-to-door magazine peddling of JWs.
In both cases, the WTS reasons that some 'objected to some scriptural teaching' and ceased walking with Jesus. "Walking with Jesus" does not equate to being a Christian in the mind of this particular article writer. Rather, "walking with Jesus" means being a Jehovah's Witness, attending all their meetings, being baptised into their organisation, going from door-to-door preaching an unscriptural version of the 'good news', obeying the elders and Governing Body and not partaking of the memorial emblems.
OK, let's take a step back and examine the scriptural teaching that was objected to by the crowds who followed Jesus'
Most truly I say to you, ‘Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I shall resurrect him at the last day; for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him.
The crowds following Jesus objected to partaking of his sacrifice. They rejected the meaning, symbol and value of Jesus' sacrificial death for them.
Is it just me, or is it completely bizarre and offensive that the WTBTS uses the 1st C rejection of Jesus sacrifice and re-models it to castigate those who leave the Organisation and those who reject the Watchtower literature when each year at their Memorial of Christ's death they doexactly the same thing?

Just in case you missed it -- great comment by "easyreader" from another thread
by Alpaca inon metatron's thread about dubs going mainstream easyreader said this:.
another issue causing the decay is the lack of a "date".
in order for a cult to work, there has to be a date where everything will culminate.

Gill's right. They've already started to hint, very subtly, that, hey, Christ is taking his time! They even mentioned that he's been reigning for almost 100 years recently. Why even draw attention to that?
And what about the articles comparing Jesus' reign with that of Solomon's? They even asked the question, "how can we be sure Jesus reign will be a loyal one?". Guess what, WTS, you don't get to ask that question, ok?
The Bible shows that Solomon's reign turned apostate, Solomon turned his back on Jehovah. Are they trying to hint that, wow, looks like Jesus is doing the same? I mean, he's taking his time, isn't he, eh?

Jordan
by Gill injordan maxwell, well known student/professor of the occult symbology that surrounds us says the following in his book 'matrix of power':.
'england and rome use freemasonic symbols at the highest religious levels, element in relation to christianity - or should i say jehovah's witness's brand of christianity.
we have such books as 'christian by degrees', 'masonic religion revealed in the light and the faith of jehovah, 'testament for a new world', 'the seven books containing a sense of spriritual wisdom,' given to us by the knights templar.

I'm done obsessing the JW's! Now my life can really start.
by QuestioningEverything innine months ago, my whole world was rocked sideways and upside down!!
it all started with a search on the internet about jw's and 1975. little did i know what i was going to see when i came on here-jwn and freeminds.org.
needless to say, i was totally devastated to learn how that the "truth" was not really the truth.

The WTS need a new tentacle of control
by passwordprotected inthe watch tower bible and tract society was founded on the belief that armageddon is imminent.
in the late 1870s when charles t russell gave up his business interests and began preaching that christ had returned - invisibly, of course - in 1874 and that by 1914 the current system would be over with, a religious model pinched from the adventists and millerites, was established.. 1914 came and went, this old system lumbered on, and the wtbts in the person of russell began re-reading his favourite biblical texts and re-calibrating his 'pyramidological' calculations.
yes, his prophecies hadn't come true, but the bible students lived to predict another end of the world.

The point re. 2014 is pretty much what sir82 says. Added to that the fact that conditions aren't really getting progressively worse as per WTS predictions. Also, 100 years of Christ doing nothing when he's meant to be ruling may be galling to some JWs.
The issue with the Genesis scripture is that Noah had 120 years to build the ark and "preach righteousness". Thus, 2034 could be a date the WTS starts peddling. But as I state above, they've had their fingers burned and stated quite publicly in a WT article in the mid-90s that they had 'run ahead' a little with their date setting. Hence, I don't see 2034 playing much of a part of their future exegesis.
