This is something the Society would have fought if they felt it would be in their interests to do so.
The BSG being ditched is law-related, I'm sure, but I doubt it's this particular issue.
is this the real reason that the watchtower has stopped all group studies?.
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread467527/pg1.
did they have advance warning that this was about to start happening in the usa?.

one of the things you're not supposed to do as a witness is swear.......but sometimes the definition of what a swear word was went too far.
for example in my family at one point my parents decided for a little while that we should stop saying the word "bum" after having used it forever.
this did not last as a swear word for very long as.........well i mean .....come on!.
The Irish are natural swearers...
i would like to know from everyone first of all what they think the difference is between a df'd person and a da'd person.. i would also like to know what everyone thinks that jw's think is the difference between a df'd and da'd person.. personally i am df'd.
i was df'd 10 years ago almost and did not argue it at all as i had no desire to continue as a jw anyway.
before being df'd i was always under the impression that if a person da'd themselves it almost always meant they were " apostate" and that there was no way a jw should have any contact with them.
Rosey said;
"However since being df'd I have had NO contact with my family who are strict jw's and I have recently spoken to some da'd exjw's who still have some contact with their families. Obviously everyone's situation is different and while I now just think we're all people who've decided not to have anything more to do with the borg ( whether through actions or words) I can't help wonder about YOUR opinions."
It depends very much on the person's family. In your case, you quite rightly define your family as "strict jw's". In my own case, my parents still speak to me, but I don't think they're as strict as other JWs. Also, they still want to see my kids...
We have other family members who have admitted that they don't see us as evil sinners...

Berean is right.
If a person is known to be 'sinning', the elders will meet with them. If it's clear from preliminary chats that the person isn't going to change their view they'll be asked if they still wish to be known as a JW. If the answer is no, they're asked to put it in writing. If they refuse to do so the elders will as if they understand that, as they've admitted this in front of two witnesses, they are now disassociated. An announcement is made very quickly stating that the person is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
As Berean correctly states, this saves the local BoE being liable for 'wrongly disfellowshipping'; they person has, by their own words, done the work of a judicial committee.
This is exactly how it was done in my case and I know of two others locally who went through the same cat and mouse game.
As for the difference between being DFd and DAd, being DAd automatically makes you an apostate and thus the worse type of sinner; beyond help or hope.

welcome to "watching the ministry.
" my name is greg stafford.
Slightly off topic, but what is a Christian Witness of Jah? Weren't Christians all witnesses of Jesus? Or did I miss something? Maybe I'm not particularly up on the ins and outs of starting ones own sectarian religion.
anyone watch this video?
it looks like it was made in the 1970s.
i wonder how the person(s) making this video got all these people together without the internet... .
Brilliant video!
i'm new to this forum and am also sacolton's wife.
alot of you already know about me because he's talked about me on here before...even has posted pictures, at which he incurred my wrath upon my discovery.
anyways...i'm about to submit my letter of disassociation to my local congregation and i thought i would share it.
Just want to add my welcome to the forum and congratulations for seeing the organisation as it is. I'm not sure I would go with the sort of letter you're proposing to put in, however, do what you need to do to give yourself closure.
for all those that read my post from the other day, i have been asked that if i am to miss any meetings i must call one particular elder per his request.
so on sunday i woke up and decided to stay home from the meeting and test my theory that this guy is on a power trip.
i "had a headache" which in all reality was a small hangover from the night before.
Are you also an elder?
hopefully i'll be able to post these in safari.
we had a church outing yesterday and i shot some videos;.
nope, didn't work.. .

Sorry, but why does this elder expect you to call him to let you know when you won't be at the meeting?
