Then why does the Watchtower state that the "other sheep" follow the Governing Body?

"Bearing Thorough Witness" book: New light about Governing Body
by kurtbethel inthey are not your leaders!.
here it is, in print, on page 110 above the picture of "the nine".. "the governing body relies on god's holy spirit for direction.
its members do not regard themselves as the leaders of jehovah's people.

To Fade or Not To Fade... An Opinion.....
by AllTimeJeff injust a couple of set of ground rules i would like to set for this.
frequently, one of two options for those who want to leave jw's are 1) a purposeful, public, resignation (or disassociation as jw's call it) vs 2) what is commonly called in the ex jw internet world, "the fade".
i know that emotions run deep on this subject for good reason, because of what is at stake, and all that is perceived to be lost.

is this seriously one of the forum's rules to follow?
how can that be so when this whole forum is based on inciting hatred towards one religion.....jehovah's witnesses.......wow this is funny!

I am not a strong witness as some are, but that does not mean that I will stop putting my faith in Jehovah.
That's a good point. If you're able to, try and disentangle God from the Organisation. They are, in fact, very separate.

The after effects of being in a cult are toll taking, no matter what you say.
I think this is a great point and one worth bearing in mind.
There's a level of smugness in both the 'fading' and the 'DAing' camps. But whatever exit one chooses, the Watch Tower Society leaves in indelible mark on our psyche.

As soon as we ceased meeting attendance we were cut off from our so-called 'friends' (I hope they're royally ashamed of themselves; they know who they are). We were in limbo; we still believed in God, still wanted to serve him in some way, but we had virtually no one other than Hobo Ken and Iknowall to call friends. Our children needed some stability as the parents of their friends acted as if they didn't exist any longer.
We only briefly entertained 'fading', but it wasn't for us, we just wanted to get on with our lives and we didn't feel it was fair on our children to always have one eye looking over our shoulders (particularly because of birthdays), so once we started going to church we knew we'd be disassociating. Why should we go through a prolonged period of measured non-activity JW-wise just so that there might be a chance we'd still be able to say hello to certain people in the supermarket, should our paths cross.
If the relationships in your life and totally dependent upon your performing certain activities to a certain standard, then it's time to have a long, hard look at those relationships...
We chose our own personal and family freedom. We chose the right to decide who we associate with, where we go to worship God, the celebrations we choose to observe or not observe. We chose those things over the conditional and fickle relationships that thrive in Kingdom Halls.
Gail and I were talking about this last night with her non-JW father; we've lost a lot but it has been absolutely worth it to have freedom.

Must see video on Youtube where a JW is clearly defeated on the trinity subject...
by Tuesday inpersonally i hate bible ping-pong.
i don't think it ever gets anywhere, i don't think it solves anything and i don't think the participants ever make any head room.
however i will say in this case, i have been proven wrong.

hi boyzone the bible allows for lesser Gods and puts Jesus in this brackets they are not false Gods by being lesser but just not the true God.
Exodus 7:1 (King James Version)
1 And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.
was JEhovah making moses into a false God?
Of cause not the the bible also calls his sons angels gods because they are spirit form.
so the choices aren't God verses false gods but God, lesser gods or God-like if you will and false Gods.
the 'a god ' in John 1:1 shows that Jesus is God-like and a god by virtue of possessing many qualities of his father but that still doesn't make him God thats why people over-look the important part of that scripture when dwelling on the 'a god' they ignore it saying 'WITH God' all translations say this with no exception they all agree he is 'with God and that in itself proves he isn't god becasue you cannot be with something and be it that is not the sense of what being with something means. I am with you on this forum but I am not you. Jesus cannot be with God if he is God.
Reniaa
And Thomas just completely missed the point when he called Jesus My God.

Show-down with elder at the kingdom hall
by Hobo Ken inthis is podcast 8 in the death or obedience series.. this was recorded on christmas day 2008.. after our last visit from two local elders my wife felt she could no longer be known as a jehovah's witness and had chosen to disassociate herself in november 2008.. we had been on a family holiday and had returned to find that one of the local elders who had visited us had warned off my mother-in-law from having anything to do with my wife - her daughter.
he also made false statements about one of my children.. i decided to confront this elder at the kingdom hall.
this podcast is the recording of our conversation.. notice how he denies making such statements to my mother-in-law and falsely accuses me of teaching her beliefs contrary to jehovah's witnesses.. i ask whether it's a sin to no longer be a jehovah's witness?.
