Richard Gere is rushed the emergency room to remove a gerbil from his butt.
Turns out the gerbil was a JW.

Best JW tall story/variations of it?
by KW13 indont just list one, list them all so we can laugh because in all honesty i can't believe we believed some of them.
for example, i was told annie lennox stopped a concert to ask if there was any jw's in the audience, and if there was could they leave as they were stopping the demons getting through...is this even remotely true?
did annie lennox ask the jw's in the audience to move because they were stopping the snack lady getting through...and it got twisted through chinese whispers.... the other day (i felt sick) one witness was banging on about how amazing it was that the watchtower society's building was the only one standing still...wtf...my stepdad responded with a 'wow thats amazing' and the first brother was like 'yeah i know'...grrrrrrrrr aaaaaaaah screaaaaaaaaam .

I Had Lunch With Michelle Obama Today
by Justitia Themis inshe is an amazon...i'm guessing 5' 11" with big hips.
her speech was ok, but she says "um" a lot.
our table was very close, which translates into we paid $500.00, instead of $200.00, per plate for our cold chicken salad.

When I joined this forum, I was going to avoid all political stuff, but..........
What's happening in Zimbabwe has nothing to do with someone trying to get to work in Indiana. It's a political problem in Zimbabwe. There is no shortage of oil, food, or anything else on this planet, it's more that we have a surplus of greed. The true cost of oil is about $10/barrel. If we had a true free market, gas would be well under $2/gallon.
No, we don't have it good in the states. I'm just barely scraping by and a lot of people are in the same boat. Meanwhile, in Saudia Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, etc, gas is a buck a gallon, and they live lives of complete luxury. Go pick on them for a change. Working Americans are getting screwed again like they always do. -

What does your congregation do socially now?
by truthseeker inif you're still in or hear about jw social activities through the grapevine, what does your congregation do now socially?.
my hall does absolutely - nothing - with the exception of high school graduations.
i read a few posts about jw socialising in the 70s and 80s and honestly, reading about it is completely foreign to me - i grew up in the 80s and never experienced the "good times" of jwdom.. it seems most people do their own thing.

What I eventually noticed was the congregations were made up of cliques, and they stuck together within the hall and socially outside of the hall. So there were gatherings, but you had to be part of one of those cliques to participate. Sort of like high school. I will say though that in one of the last congregations I attended in Minnesota, we had an unofficial picnic each Sunday after the meeting at a local park. It wasn't announced or anything, but it was known that's where the JWs would be. Actually it was one of the few things I miss about those days, pretty fun. We played ball, had BBQS. Then when the weather turned cold, we would meet at a local bowling alley. When I moved out here to Seattle, the congregation did nothing, and I mean nothing! I don't think they even socialized much in their little cliques. They were mostly just completely self-absorbed people.

George Bush working on Autobiography
by Simon inapparently the current president has started work on his autobiography which he hopes to have ready for release when he leaves office.. he's run into a few issues though ... apparently his coloring-in went over the lines in quite a few places and he had trouble cutting out the popup shapes with the plastic safety scissors he was allowed to use..

I did my part, I voted for the other guys, even though I didn't like them either.
The last eight years has been miserable here, can't blame all of it on Bush, but if nothing else the guy is bad luck. -

Last year a guy shot up a downtown Jewish center, killing one worker and injuring many others. His trial ended in a hung jury. I guess pretty much anything goes in Seattle.
