I bought a $5.00 instant ticket today and won $15.00. Last year I bought a $20.00 dollar ticket and won $1000.00. I go to the casino when I have extra cash, but that is about twice a year. I just love it.

i told him i'm sorry he is doing his study and i will not call him to the phone.
i told him we do not talk to each other and he would have to call him back around 11:30. he called back around 11:40 and sure sounded different then his first call.

Guess we were in the same boat. Back in 1984 he took all money out of my name and left me and the kids. By the way he was a elder when he did this. Only one brother at the hall borrowed me money, the rest of the time I was on welfare. The only thing the brothers did was remove him as a elder. He was gone for about 9 months and then came back. Me and the kids never walked back into the hall. He left because my daughter did not want to attend anymore. She had no friends and was very lonely. He stopped talking to her and that crushed her. What a life. I can hardly believe that the brothers and your husband's hall did nothing to him. By the way I think they were okay with us leaving after all he is the contributor every month and I had no money.
I got myself a job and worked full time for 20 years and kept my own checking account. I would never put money in his accounts because of what he did to me. That really makes him angry. He said we are one. Yeah right only when it comes to money. Does he think I am stupid.?
I even sleep in the basement because he will get up at 4:00 in the morning to read his books and wakes me up. Hey, after all I am the one going to work I need my rest.

I might call the elders after the first of the year. I don't want to ruin Christmas for my children and grandchildren. They have to know something is wrong unless he puts on his christian personality. Really in his head he thinks he is right. I have been married for a long time and I don't even know what we have in the bank. Not allowed to even go there. My name is on accounts only for legal reasons. What a jerk he is. I do have a letter that I wrote to the circuit overseer and the main office. He said that if I sent it they would laugh in my face and I would make a fool of myself. If only he knew I have copies of all bank records, 401k plan that I had, and had to cash in because I needed to the money to support myself, all of he nasty notes, and yes all utilities are in my name that he has never put in his name. Maybe I am the stupid one letting him get away with this.

You are right Jamie, physical abuse is one thing, but mental abuse is hell. I sometimes wish I could blow the whistle on him. I have so much on things he has done to me that if they knew any of this they would probably have him knock on the door to get into the hall. Everything I have on him is in black and white I have all of his stupid notes he leaves for me in the bathroom, bank records, food bills. I have to purchase all the food in the home so I keep all of the bills. So much for providing me with food and a roof over my head. I remember a scripture that says if a man cannot provide for his own family, he is like a man without faith and should be removed from the congregation. I am 63 years old and still have to work while he is retired and enjoying life. I could go on and on but it will get me really worked up.
One day he will get his and I hope it is soon.

A JW attending funerals at a church.

before we went in the church, she (mother-in-law) told me that she wanted to warn me that if they get into the singing and praising of god, don't be surprised if i see her not participating.

My husband lost his mother ten years ago and walked out of the church and when his father died he didn't even go in the church. When his mom died I stayed in the church because I loved her very much and deeply respected her. When his dad died I asked if he was going in the church he said he didn't know, I took that for a no and didn't even attend that one. I never liked his father and he caused many problems. I did go to view the body, but left before the service began. He burned me once by walking out and I wasn't going to let him do it again. So sad to show disrespect for parents that he claims to have loved.

Yesterday a brother called the house and asked for my husband. I told him I'm sorry he is doing his study and I will not call him to the phone. He asked for my husband and I looked out the front window his car was gone. I told him sorry his car is gone. Do you think this guy will let the elders know that we don't even speak to each other? My feeling is if our family knows how I am being treated so I figure it's time his brothers and sisters know what goes on in this house. After all they feel he is such a fine brother and they even let him pray before the meetings.

Christmas, the worst time of year for Jehovah's Witnesses
by koolaid-man inthe holidays are here and they certainly do present a problem for jehovah's witnesses once again.
christmas parties at work, getting christmas bonuses, dealing with holiday greetings, christmas carols, decorated trees and houses, santa claus everywhere, christmas candy, sleighbells ringing brings the witnesses into a very troubling and disturbing time of year.how do most witnesses handle it all?
we will be discussing these questions with former witnesses and active witnesses on the conference call this saturday night, december 19,2009 at 7 p.m. the conference call is presented like a radio talk show program.

A friend of mine works with a girl who is a jw and last year she refused he Xmas bonus, but took it this year. I found out that in the book they are studying Keeping yourself in gods love, it says they can take the bonus. Why they can even go to parties as long as they let people know that they are not there to celebrate, just for the meal.
For me I have decorated my house, have a beautiful tree with alot of gifts for my family. Husband has not said one word to me for over a month. I hope he will file for legal seperation after the first of the year.

OMG! My jw husband is going to celebrate Thanksgiving with me!

Good for you. I am so happy he is going with you. I have spent all of my holidays alone without my husband. We are leaving for my son's house and he will not go. My children feel so bad. Give that man a big kiss and tell him how much you appreciate his coming with you. You are one lucky lady. Enjoy your day.
