  Did the entire first century congregation preach?

  i've been wondering about that question for the past few weeks.

  in my recollection it seems that the disciples were the primary ones engaged in the preaching work.

  where the other members of the 1st congregation involved in that preaching work as well?

  The Barnett book is written from a Biblical persepective rather than an historical one, but both together fill in many missing blanks.

  1969: i was still studying with the jws, attending meetings, and preparing for baptism.

  one of the requirements was that i notify my previous religion, the roman catholic church where i was baptized as a baby in 1951, and demand they remove me from membership.. catholic policy: i wrote to my priest in southern california to follow-up on the jw requirement to write to the catholic church and demand removal.

  but, unlike most churches, the catholic church never removes anyone from the membership.

  i've seen loads of live acts, back when i was a "young person asking" i watched the crystals, heinz, johnny kid and the pirates, brenda lee, joe brown and others all on one show.

  so very innocent!.

  come my eventual departure from dubdom, i resolved to see all these bad people playing their music live.

  Yes, that is he. A truly world class musician and a lovely man. Ron Darnell was pretty handy too, a little too much staccato for my tastes.

  Did you ever catch Don playing with Ian Carr (trumpet ) in their quintet? They parted company in the early 70's as Ian moved into a more electronic band with 'Nucleus' and Don remained acoustic. The hair still vibrates on the back of my neck thinking about a Saturday night in Barnes when they lifted the roof with the steam from their playing. Trevor Tomkins on drums, Michael Garrick piano, Dave Green string-bass. Them were good old tymes, them were.

  Thank you for your comments.

  I believe that the WTS has major problems with defections, not so much from its 'stock' but from those who commence a study, research and then quit studying. I have heard of growing concerns with this issue.
