Well, you have defined the process of capital in a free economy, but you have not defined the ideology of capitalism, though I am quite it is not necessary as most who post to the political threads are at least aware of the ideologies on offer.

i have never until a few days ago been able to reconcile the 70 year prophecy with the 587/6 bce date for jerusalems destruction.
although a post was about this in a previous thread by a@g , i would like to explore this more.. when the 70 years are applied to babylonian rule, rather than the jewish exile everything seems to make sense.. to ellaborate for those who haven't come across it, this is how 587/6 does match the 70 year prophecy.. i hope a@g doesn't mind but i have cut and paste his post:-.

Well, I have to say that one of the funniest moments on this Board is when Messiah JCanon battled it out for Messiahship with another poster who also lived too far from his pharmacy.
It reminded me of the time one of the JW's in my group study leapt up one evening and demanded that I do homage to her as she was the Queen Of Sheba. I asked her to go to the kitchen and put the kettle on and we would have a cup of tea together very soon. She simply replied, 'all right then', disappeared into the kitchen and started banging all the pots and pans as she looked for the kettle, which incidentally was right in front of her.

Sooner or later the West may have to dig up the old socialistic lessons it has been eager to forget lately, to be able to survive as a society on the meagre leftovers of the late period of capitalistic enthusiasm.
Yes, I agree.
Though socialism as an ideal has never actually been implemented in anything more than an approximation by any nation (and we could argue the same for democracy) the natural desire for justice and a fair deal for all, inevitably moves the balance of power in that direction when the unhealthy excesses of capitalism come home to roost.

Jonsson even up to this day probablt is unaware of Young's article but he certainly was not aware of it when he published his fourth edition. But he should have known better because I have for many years staed the inportance of mnethodology in chronology so Jonsson should have been aware of this critical scholarly approach.

apparently the current president has started work on his autobiography which he hopes to have ready for release when he leaves office.. he's run into a few issues though ... apparently his coloring-in went over the lines in quite a few places and he had trouble cutting out the popup shapes with the plastic safety scissors he was allowed to use..

Here are a few definitions of the political concept of 'democracy'. Try to read any of them into the US political system and you will very quickly hit obstacles.
1) Government by the people, exercised either directly or through elected representatives.
2) A political or social unit that has such a government.
3) The common people, considered as the primary source of political power.
4) Majority rule.
5) The principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community.
The instigator of this thread proves my point. He asks that the World not judge the American people harshly because President Bush was elected into power and that it is the flawed US political system that was to blame! Recognizing this fact and that the US holds itself up proudly as the bastion of a democracy confident enough to be exported around the world by trigger and bomb, should give the American people a clue as to why their international prestige is at an all time low.
