  Television: 'Homeland'

  have any of you been watching the new showtime series, homeland?

  the season finale will air next sunday.

  i've really been enjoying it.

  Season 2 is pretty darn good, but Season 1 was so strong, we can expect to be somewhat disappointed. (As someone else said, is it turning into '24' already?)

  Still, it's better than most of the crap on TV, even if it's not as good as Season 1.

  "we live with her family and they are jw"

  Do you realize what this means? They will be 'forced' to kick you out of their house! Do you want to be homeless, or do you have somewhere else that you can live? Dude, this is serious business. The elders will breath down their throats, demanding that you be put on the street. Further, they will be sympathetic to encouraging your wife to leave you.

  I had reached that breaking point, too.

  The letter did *end* my life as a JW in one simple act. They've never tried to contact me even once.

  However, I didn't fully understand all of my choices. There are other ways to do it.

  I just want you to know that you have choices. One of those is to walk away and cease contact with the people you don't want to see again. If anyone questions you, you simply tell them that you're "not interested in talking about it" and you politely ask them to "leave your property" and ask that they "stop calling your house". They will lose interest.

  There is nothing wrong with writing a letter. I just wanted you to know some things that I really didn't know until after I submitted mine.

  Yes, I sent my letter to some regular folks. They viewed it as an attack on them and as an attack on Jehovah.

  Nobody is going to read your letter.

  If your goal is to rescue other people, writing a letter will hinder that goal.

  (Nobody read mine.)

  Maybe this is a way to get a Witness to use CRITICAL THINKING ?

  i have been trying recently different ways to get fellow witnesses to use their thinking faculties ,one that seems to work is the following :.

  "would you believe in the trinity if the governing body told you to ?

  because it is not in the bible .

  Asking questions is a red flag in the mind of the loyal JW.

  What is your goal in writing a letter?

  Letters can achieve a very narrow set of results. The unintended consequences can be numerous.

  Ponder this: Being DF'd or inactive is very different from being an Apostate. People who write letters are Apostates. If you don't want to be viewed as an Apostate by 99.9% of all JWs (including your 'friends' and blood relatives) do *not* write a letter.
