paragraph 3 of this typically un-self-effacing article is incredible for 2 reasons, 2 reasons jws are unlikely to be awake to and will more than likely be blind to.. .

first of all the wts very grandly state that "jehovah and "the faithful and discreet slave" deeply appreciate all their past and present contributions to the kingdom work.".

firstly, the wts have put their organisation in the self-assigned role as the "faithful and discreet slave", which we'll come to in a second.

Have you read Steve Hassan's books? Once I read his first book, I quickly realized how the Mind Control affects the JWs. The content of the literature has little to do with reality. They can print the most outrageous things they want to and 95% of the rank and file will never question it. Moreover, they will insist that it is a "loving provision from Jehovah".

I was told the following: "Even if the Society is wrong about blood, you will have remained faithful to Jehovah if you follow the Society. If you or one of your family members die, you will get a resurrection."

Anyone that questions these things can be silenced or removed from the organization.

The Watchtower Society already promotes the killing of children, by allowing them to die, should they need whole blood or a banned fraction.

I ask you, is there any teaching more egregious than this?

As David Reed says, more JWs have died because of the blood doctrine than the number of people killed in the Jonestown Massacre. It's just that these deaths are not in one place, at one time.

According to the 1952 Watchtower, the law of the land AND the "laws of God through Jesus Christ" restrict them from executing apostates.

We are not living today among theocratic nations where such members of our fleshly family relationship could be exterminated for apostasy from God and his theocratic organization, as was possible and was ordered in the nation of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai and in the land of Palestine. "Thou shalt surely kill him; thy hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him to death with stones, because he hath sought to draw thee away from Jehovah thy God, . . . And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is in the midst of thee."—Deut. 13:6-11, AS.
Being limited by the laws of the worldly nation in which we live and also by the laws of God through Jesus Christ, we can take action against apostates only to a certain extent, that is, consistent with both sets of laws. The law of the land and God’s law through Christ forbid us to kill apostates, even though they be members of our own flesh-and-blood family relationship. However, God’s law requires us to recognize their being disfellowshiped from his congregation, and this despite the fact that the law of the land in which we live requires us under some natural obligation to live with and have dealings with such apostates under the same roof.

where the `masters of he universe' went wrong, is they dressed up complex financial instruments(ie sub-prime mortages) as great things to invest in.. it appears that they may have violated a economic law, namely they were not producing any product or service.. if everyone were dealing in dirvaives ,socks or shares etc with the idea that is how to make your money,but not producting any goods etc, you wouldn't have any people making wealth from goods and services.. greed can also bring down an economy.. perhaps someone should have helped these sub-prime morttagees by training them for high quality jobs, making it less likely that they would default... .

Scholarly support for 607bce ?

i mentioned to a bro.

who is supposed to be answering some of my "concerns" with wt teaching that all the non-witness refs.i have seen to the fall of jerusalem place it twenty years later at 587-586 bce.. he maintains that some scholars support 607. does anyone know of a reliable scholar ,who is a recognised expert in this period,who does support 607 ?.

i am well aware that it makes no difference,as the bible nowhere gives us 2520 years,but i am fed up with his assertions and would like to blow this one out of the water so i can ask him to please check his facts.. only help if you really have time ,it's not life or death.. many thanks.

Hmmm, how about the tail? Is that edible?

The tail is most definitely edible and it is delicious. I've eaten Oxtail Stew many times, in Harlem, during my Bethel years.

I do not remember if the tail is available in a taco, at Tres Amigos. It would not surprise me, however.

first - yes - i am in uk and have no vote and possibly no right to overly criticise.

be that as it may i must comment that the candidates available for the us voters do not stand out as world leaders, neither are kennedys, eisenhowers, or even nixons.

is this choice the best that the us has to offer itself ?
