Maybe he told them there weren't two witnesses present. No, seriously, I hope they find this bastard and he gets what he deserves!

Why don't they publish the Daily Text themselves? I never understood that. Now, I could care less. Seems like if they wanted to reach 'everyone' they should be using all resources-radio, TV, Satellite radio, etc...

One of the first major things I did was get back in touch with my aunt-she's two years younger than me. We grew up like sisters. She was baptised as a witness in 1993 and later on in 2005 became a baptized Mormon. I was devastated that she had done that and as a good JW, I quit talking to my apostate aunt. As soon as I opened my eyes with regard to the WT, I called her and made peace. She cried, I cried, and we met for lunch within a few days of that call and have never looked back. I also took my son trick or treating for the first time.

Question about your spouse or ex
by bluecanary ini've noticed we have a few male posters here with wives who are still in the jws.
and i can think of one female poster (cognac) with a husband in the jws (although things are looking up for her).
of course we have a few spouses that came out together.. is it me, or does it seem like the women here are more likely to have divorced their jw husband--even before leaving--whereas the men are more likely to stay with their wives?

My husband and me have both faded. He faded first and tried desperately to get me to see the light-that didn't work-it. I was a diehard and it caused many arguments between us. Some years I stumbled onto this site and the rest is history. I was able to show him some stuff about the organization that he didn't know(voting, UN, Blood policy) I totally cut the WTBS-ha ha WT BS( watchtower bullsh*t) out of my life. Life for us and our kids is so much better! Thank you JWD!!

WELCOME- You are at the right place! Many of us here have been where you are at and have found peace in our life. I was just as you are a little over a year ago-unsure, guilt ridden due to my inactivity, busy with everday life. I stumbled across this site and my whole life was changed. I NEVER doubted any thing I had been taught as a JW. When I discovered the "truth" was not the truth, I was devastated. It felt as if a loved one had died. I cried for days, then eventually, I got really mad that I had been decieved. Also, that I had a lot of loved ones who were still be lied to-my mom, in-laws, long time friends.
I read as much information as I could on this site and another site called JW Facts. They were so helpful. I also read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz. I learned more than I could ever imagine. You are wise to question everything you have ever learned. Don't feel bad, for having doubts, their own teaching encourage non-JW's to research anything that potential believers to question whatever they are being taught. One who has nothing to hide, hides nothing. If it is really the truth, why would they discourage their members to not look into researching their religion?
I understand you not wanting to hurt your family but you must do what is best for you and your babies. It has been wonderful to not have the guilt of never doing enough spiritually, to spend more time with my family doing normal stuff, to celebrate holidays (they are so fun).
I wish you well on your journey to discover the truth about this religion. You will feel so much relief in the long run!!

Birthdays
by feenx infor those of us who were not able to celebrate birthday's growing up, do you find that in adult life you put a lot of emphasis on your birthday?
it's personally my favorite celebration, second would be thanksgiving but really only because i'm a sucker for lots of turkey and booze lol.
seriously though, since coming out birthday's have surprisingly become a very sacred thing to me.

There was an elder at our hall that wouldn't allow his young daughter to watch "Aladdin" or "Beauty and the Beast". due to the spiritistic content! And when he came over my parents house and "Aladdin" was in the VCR, he commented on it saying I shouldn't let my son watch it, his daughter NEVER watched stuff like that. I said it was a kids cartoon movie. WTF!!! Crazy religion. I felt so sorry for his daughter. She turned into an adult with a tortured soul.
