Hello-today is my birthday-yeah, I'm 42y. My co-workers brought me flowers and a cake. I feel so loved. It was the first time as an adult that someone sang Happy Birthday to me.

I was also able to anti-witness to them about the JW's. It feels good sharing with others the real reasons why I never celebrated my b-day. What a cool way to start my day.

: the body of elders and the majority of the congregation decided to leave the watch tower organization.

and with that, they took the kingdom hall.

Thanks for the real story Blondie. It's very interesting to see how the WTBS get's rid of those that question their authority. I'd love to hear how those brothers are doing today. I hope they all stayed out of the organization.

it is incredible the amount of scaremongering that jw's carry out.. this was one that always plagued me when i was still trying to grasp onto my beliefs as a jw.. either in wt study or in private discussion, this topic would come up.. what a horendous outlook of the future.

to be in absolute fear that the authorities might take your children away from you.

that you might suffer torture.

I remember hearing this many times. It was horrifying. As a parent, I worried about how I would protect my kids if that happened. It's no different than how other religion's teach hellfire to their parishoner's. It's all about teaching fear to get people to submit.

I am so HAPPY that I no longer fear this and don't fret each time the news comes on. The 'truth' really does set you free!!

Can you "fornicate" with your marriage mate? I've heard the WTBTS says that you can. Is this true?

is it true that the current thinking of jehovah's witnesses is that you can "fornicate" with your marriage mate if you engage in sexual activity that is not approved by the writing department at bethel?

I remember a talk at the Service meeting about this topic. It was maybe 6 or 7 years ago. The elder giving the talk said that if you have oral or anal sex with your spouse, you are committing fornication.

a little over two years ago-june 2008- i began a journey of epic proportions.

i didn't know at that time that my life would forever change.

i came across this website while looking up jehovah's witnesses and 1975. at first, i was very nervous.

thanks everyone for the comments. I sincerely hope that newbie's or lurkers can read what I wrote and see that life can be so much better. It may take time to work through all of the issue's that result from being a JW but it can be done. I am Living proof of that.
