bttt - don't be rude!
by Elsewhere inlmao... something just occured to me.... for the longest time i thought that "bttt" was the spelling for a rude sound made with the mouth.
i kept seeing it in the sex abuse threads and thinking, "that is so rude... why is that person doing that on such an important thread?".
then i saw someone use the phrase "bump to the top" and it all suddenly made sence!

Don't Let A Window-Washer Ruin Your Life
by minimus inrecently, someone posted that jehovah's witnesses are one of the most uneducated religions around.
since college and secular training is generally discouraged, there is good reason to believe that most witnesses will be less educated than others.
yet, teaching is one of the main points stressed to all witnesses.

First I must state there is nothing wrong with window washers, I have been doing it for years. I just love looking in at people to see their smiling faces because they are getting a clean look at the world outside. There is a lot of shit that can build up on a window to block one's vision. It depends on what direction the glass faces the weather or other contaminants that can stick to the vertical surface of the glass. Yes that silica laden substance needs a lot of tender care and rubbing sometimes and I'm up for the job. Then I go and administer over lives and spread lies, although unknowingly, to members of my JW congregation.

What do the children think?
by BLISSISIGNORANCE inafter my child was sexually abused i found myself wondering, not only about how to help my child cope with the actual crime committed, but also how would i deal with the organization, the pedo, the other congregation members etc, and how would the way i dealt with it all affect my child (victim) and the other siblings?.
the borg expected me to leave it all to the elders (only the 2 that knew about the crime) and the rest to jehovah.
ok, but then i got df for trying to protect other children in the congo because the 2 elders weren't.

Sorry to hear this, and glad your out of the WT.
My child dealt better with the sexual abuse than my DF. After being DF my child took the blame for what had happened to me and felt guilty. This led to months of night terrors, night mares, disturbed sleep, not wanting to leave my side, school problems, just to name a few. Counselling seemed the only way to get through the difficult time, seeing as though the elders and congo members never showed up for a visit or a shepherding visit. My family was left alone to deal with it.
The crime committed against your family looks to be the major cause of the problem and reactions from your child (victim). It's a horrible organization and the ideals they instill in their members are false (disfellowshipping). I get angry when I hear incidents like this from any source but to have it made worse by WT police is beyond comprehension.

what a bad world we would live in, if everbody was a jw, and would shun you for taking blood, for missing meetings, for becoming inactive, for marrying a person not spiritual enough, and so on so forth.. luckily there is only 1/1000 worldwide.. how would you picture this world if everybody was a jw?.

Have You Been Divorced?
by Outaservice indivorce is much more common in the jehovah's witness community than they would like to admit.
probably more so than the population in general.. if you have been divorced do you think that the watchtower society contributed to the divorce, or caused it, or is it just possible you married some jerk or abuser and divorce would have occured no matter what religion you were, or even if you had no religion?.
possibly you got married way too young as the end was coming and there is no marriage in the resurrection if you died.

I'm sure you realize the shunning will never and has never had any basis in good old dub land. Try not to let it linger, their not worth it.
