Parents congregation disbanding

my parents told me that the do has advised the cong that it's going to close due to there not being enough publishers in it (why didn't he just say people .

it is a very small cong with about 35 people in it but they have enough elders and everyone was happy being in it.

apart from being dubs they actually are a genuinely nice bunch of people and i feel a bit sorry for them having to get split up against their wishes.. the hall is split into two congs, with the other half having about 140 publishers, and i asked why they didn't just ask some from the other half to support theirs.

Not sure if they specifically told the org about the reasons for the split or if they just said they felt the cong was getting too large.

Nothing happens in a congregation split without the Org. knowing about it.

I have some of the same weird memories. It all trickles down from the top the attitude of ice and mind control.

Remember the big Kahona would be upset if the meeting were disrupted. This is truly embarrassing to remember.

Did you have a Witness approved car?

when i was a witness, i was told that a responsible witness purchased a car that was able to be used in field service.

as an example, it would have four doors to allow easy entry for a car group of 4 to 6 people.

it was something that was not to showy, meaning it was not a lexus or something that would make it seem that witnesses were materialistic, especially when working a poor part of the community.

I had an "unapproved" new two door five seat SUV with a snow plow and plowed the KH for five years for free ZIP-NADA. The previous witless plowed and was given repair money whenever his truck broke down, it was ten years old.

One day in service it was below zero*f and snowing. I got a complaint from a women getting back into the back-seat that the truck was to high with only two doors and it was a bad example for an elder to have such a vehicle. I quickly told her that no one complained when I plowed the parking lot at the Hall. She shut up.

It was my last season ever to do anything at that miserable place.

maybe not - but the cano incident should make us think about an allied problem,.

namely, general corruption and rot.. many years ago, it was not unknown to find strange photos and other materials in a bethel brother's room, after he died unexpectedly.. that doesn't prove that there is a massive problem with child molestation.

How many adulterers?
How many homosexuals?
How many scam artists?
How many thieves?
How many porn addicted elders?
How many ........ ( fill in the blank).

The WT has always condemned these things and is apparently full of them.

The same can be said for every person in a religious capacity that gets caught doing wrong. Hell, the Catholic Church is not known to be a pedophile organization. They are still strong. The "bad" priests were just disciplined or booted. They have rebounded pretty well,imo. When the BTK killer did his thing, his church affiliation was not the big deal. His church did not get hurt. It is understood that there can be bad apples anywhere.

Min, The Catholic Church is at least making an attempt to apologies. The BTK killer? Was he living in his religious housing when he committed the crimes?
